15 October 2019, Bokaro: NBJK run Rozgar Training Centre team with support of Electrosteel Steels – vedanta, ensured participation in the Communication Meeting with Secondary Sales Department of ESL. Mr. Abdul Malik (Program Manager) & others represented NBJK in the meeting organized by CSR Department of Electrosteel Steels Ltd.

On the occasion of World Sight Day, NBJK run Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Eye Hospital, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribag) organized a mega Eye Screening Camp at its Vision Centre, Sherghati (Gaya).

This was supported by Sightsavers India @Sightsavers and Seva Foundation @Seva_Foundation

This served as total OPD-223, cataract identification-69, hospital ref. 32, refractive error-82, spectacles distribution-38 and low vision device distribution-05 along with transportation facility for patients from remote villages.

11 October 2019, Silaunja (Bodhgaya): On the birth anniversary of Loknayak Jay Prakash (JP), a convention held under auspices of Gaya District Lok Samiti. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Vijay Manjhi (MP, Gaya) and Mr. Girija Satish (President, National Lok Samiti). On this occasion, the MP remembered JP for making exploited and deprived people aware and said about political ideology of JP, Lohiya and Karpuri that made him a Member of Parliament. Mr. Manjhi praised Lok Samiti and said that seven resolves by the government of Bihar are towards realization of JP’s dream.

Mr. Girija Satish described about early life of JP, his contribution to India’s freedom movement and important role in independent India. JP was a world citizen and his very concept of Total Revolution opens the door of systemic change, he said.

Mr. Kaushal Ganesh Azad (National Co-ordinator, Lok Samiti) said about JP’s assumption on bad effects of centralized power structure and his resistance to arbitrary use of power, communalism, corruption, superstition, casteism etc. Mrs. Samta Devi (MLA, Barachatti) expressed her concern over existing situation, mentioned about struggle for dalit rights and appealed to oppose red-tapism. Mrs. Jyoti Manjhi (Ex-MLA, Barachatti) appreciated Mr. Girija Satish for strengthening of Lok Samiti and said about her learning from the organization that made her MLA. Mr. Ramswaroop Bhai requested youths for association with Lok Samiti if they want to do something for society. Mr. Shivjatan Bhai called to save cultural values. Mr. Baleshwar Manjhi identified JP as a leader who introduced a lot of change in a stereotyped social mindset. Mrs. Putul Kumari focused upon JP in our daily life while Mrs. Meena Devi explained about JP’s life for India. Mr. Krishnadev Paswan asked for Lok Samiti membership campaign.

Also Messrs Parmeshwar Yadav, Umashankar, Rajendra Sinha, Dr. Nigehban Ahmad, Rajesh Yadav, Janardan Yadav, Vinod Sharma, Mahendra have addressed the convention. The program was chaired by Mr. Parwez Ahmad (Senior Advocate, Gaya) who featured Indian constitution and said about significance of JP during emergency period.

About 300 delegates from district units of Patna, Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda, Samastipur, Baxar, Bhabhua, Kaimur, Jehanabad, Rohtas, Khagadia have participated in the convention. Mr. Shivji Singh (General Secretary, Bihar State Lok Samiti) has anchored the proceedings and delivered vote of thanks.

2nd October 2019, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribag): 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated at NBJK run Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School with much zest and students presented speeches, group songs, biography of Gandhiji, an act upon him and his favorite bhajan “Raghupati Raghav…”. Next day on 3rd October, the school organized Inter-House Quiz Contest 2019. The students from Gandhi House, Tagore House, Subhash House and J.P. House participated in the event. On the basis of overall performance, Subhash House won the trophy.

02 October 2019, Heth Chakai & Ramaldih Villages: On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Birth Anniversary, two Tailoring Training Centres started at village- Heth Chakai (block-Chakai, dist-Jamui, Bihar) and village-Ramaldih (block-Deoghar Sadar, dist-Deoghar, Jharkhand).  These centres were inaugurated by Mr. Mukesh Kumar (Branch Manager, SBI-Chakai) and Mrs. Parvati Devi (Ward Member) in presence of Ms Prerna Kumari (CDPO), Ms Bharti Singh, PRI members, Mr. Sudarshan Pandey (Program Manager), Mr. Dhiraj, Mr. Santosh Gautam and many villagers. 02 October 2019, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a workshop on Message of Gandhi held at co-ordination office of NBJK. This was inaugurated by Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK), Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) and Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma (Treasurer, NBJK). The program started with lamp lighting and garlanding a photograph of Mahatma.

In his opening address, Mr. Girija Satish presented a short life-history of Gandhi Jee and focused upon his ideology. Gandhi Jee was a complete great man who touched almost every aspect of our social life including health, education, agriculture, women-children, religion, vegetarianism, dalit, minority and also shouldered familial responsibilities impartially, he said. Mr. Girija Satish praised Gandhi Jee as a good manager, discussed about his 11 vows including courage, truthfulness, non-violence and mentioned regarding ideas of Trusteeship, self-reliant villages, rational development, Champaran Satyagraha, Bhitiharwa Ashrama etc. His dedication towards non-violence & truth, struggle against social evils & superstition, concepts of Sarvodaya, equal respect for all religions, scientific approach, liquor prohibition are much relevant now in context of increasing communalism, violence and liquor intake that needs resistance, NBJK president pointed out. He appealed for Goodwill programs across India on 150th centenary of father of the nation.

Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) opined that Gandhi Jee used to practice his theories before making those public. Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma (Treasurer, NBJK) named Gandhi’s whole life as a preaching with messages like Karma Yoga, hard work-simplicity and value of time.

The workshop was contributed by about 50 staffs including Mrs.Meera Gupta, Mrs. Sunita Kumari, Mr. Gandharv Gaurav, Mr. Pravesh Singh, Mr. Sudhir Upadhyay, Mr. Abhay Kumar, Mr. Sanjay Kumar and others. Mr. Rajeev Singh anchored the program and delivered vote of thanks at the end. Similar events took place at all branch offices, Rojgar Training Centers and NBJK run schools also.

30 September 2019, Koderma: Under joint auspices of HDFC Bank and NBJK, district level Parivartan festival was celebrated at Birsa Munda Cultural Building of Koderma district collectorate. The event as an activity of Holistic Rural Development Program (HRDP) was inaugurated by Mr. Shubhashish Kumar (Branch Manager, HDFC Bank), Mr. Vikas Gupta (Program Officer, HDFC Bank), Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) and members of Village Development Committees (VDCs) from project villages.

Initially Mr. Jitendra Kumar (Program Manager, NBJK) introduced about HRDP which boosted the scope of livelihood, education, health & sanitation, agriculture, irrigation, drinking water, skill development, solar energy etc in villages.

On this occasion Mr. Satish Girija presented a brief overview of the program with innovative initiatives like livelihood promotion in farm & non-farm sectors, better schooling of children with more teachers-mini science lab-library in village schools, renovation of ponds-wells-hand pumps-construction of solar water towers-drip irrigation systems-poly sheds, strengthening of Aanganbadi centrers and many more. He requested VDCs members to use and maintain the assets created for them under the program.

Mr. Vikas Gupta praised the outcomes of HRDP, mentioned about strong VDCs and appealed the beneficiaries for knowledge sharing and management of the assets. Also the villagers and school headmasters have shared their experience with the program and valued the activities as exceptional in development sector. They requested HDFC and NBJK to continue the deputed school teachers till 10th class board examination in March’20. Also they expressed their commitment for safety of community assets dedicated to villages under HRDP.

The event was anchored by Mr. Subodh Yadav (Teacher) and concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Krishna Raut (Asst. Program Manager, NBJK). About 100 people have participated in Parivartan festival.

28 September 2019, Dumka: On first anniversary of #AyushmanBharatPradhanMantriJanArogyaYojana, NBJK run Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Eye Hospital has been honored with a Letter of Appreciation from the Commissioner & the Regional Director of Santhal Pargana Commissionary for excellent performance under this National Health Protection Scheme. Apart from the base hospital, LNJPEH provides eye care services to remote villages by organizing eye screening camps and established a vision center at Godda. During the year 2018-19, overall achievement of LNJPEH is quite encouraging with 18273 OPD,  374 camps, 3251 cataract surgery and distribution of 2196 spectacles among needy people.

28 September 2019, Bahera-Chouparan (Hazaribag): LNJP Eye Hospital, Bahera has organized eye screening camps at Shivganj, Aamas, Rajabigaha and Chandiasthan in Gaya district of Bihar during the week. The medical team identified and selected 100 cataract suffering people there for surgery. All those were operated successfully and their eye sight have been restored. Pune based Mukul Madhav Foundation and Finolex Pipes have supported the initiative.

27 September 2019, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): As an activity of Usha Silai School program with support of Usha International Limited-Delhi, 7 days residential training for women on sewing machine maintenance & tailoring has been started at NBJK co-ordination office. The training camp was inaugurated by Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) who called tailoring as a key skill towards women empowerment and praised Usha company, a leading manufacturer of sewing machines in India for the initiative. Skilled women can contribute much to make their families and society strong, he said.

On this occasion, Mr. P. N. Sharma (Treasurer-NBJK & Program Manager) added that Usha Silai School program enabled rural women to enhance their income and a large number of trained women achieved an average monthly income of Rs. 3,500-8,000 by providing tailoring training, making garments and servicing of sewing machines in their villages. Mr. Ritesh Lohani (Program Officer, UIL) requested the participants to get practical knowledge over system and functioning of sewing machine to avoid any future problem. He expected for their improved work efficiency. Ms Guneet (Training Co-ordinator, UIL) informed about 21,000 Usha Silai Schools across India for making more than 4,00,000 women as a skilled workforce. Also she assured for advance training to better performers in future.

Usha trainers team was comprised of Mrs. Sandhya Agarwal, Mr. Kamaljeet, Mr. Vimal Taank, Mr. Balveer Sharma while Mr. Shailesh Kumar and Mr. Bhuneshwar Mehta from NBJK were in organizing team. There are 35 women trainees from Baiheri, Sankhiya, Kani Mundwar, Mandai Khurd, Jinga, Amli, Goplo, Basobar and other villages.
