15-16 March 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): Under the program of Capacitating Social Activists … with support of BFW, NBJK has organized two days training on Accountancy for chief functionaries & accountants of partner CSOs those hold FCRA certificate.
During training, Mr. Puran Jha and Mrs. Sujata Samal from CPA Services Pvt. Ltd., Noida (U. P.) have imparted details about financial management-governance-review & legal compliance with participants those learnt about accounting process, kinds of bill-voucher, data entry, software system, budget, financial monitoring, program implementation, internal control over fund, prevention of financial risk, cash & bank management etc too. The resource persons focused upon taxation and explanations to accounting related intricacies before organizations in light of new regulations introduced with FCRA.
As trainees Ms. Rita Kumari & Mr. Ajit Paswan from Jan Sahyog Kendra, Mr. Chandan Kumar & Mr. Yogesh Kumar from Stri Shakti (Hazaribagh), Mr. Vijay & Mr. Nawal from Rashtriy Jharkhand Sewa Sansthan (Koderma), Mr. Filman Baxla & Mr. Jagdish Mahto from Lok Prerna Kendra (Chatra) and Mr. Prawesh Singh & Mr. Shiv Kumar Yadav from NBJK have participated in this training.

14 March 2022, Tilaiya Dam: With CSR support from Tailaiya Hydropower Station by Damodar Valley Corporation, LokNayak JayPrakash Eye Hospitlal – Bahera (Chauparan, Hazaribagh) has organized a free Eye Screening-cum-Cataract Camp at Tilaiya Dam.
The eye camp ensured total 304 OPD, detected Cataract with 89 and brought back such 67 patients to base hospital for their surgery. Also medicines & spectacles have been distributed among 217 eye patients during the camp which benefitted people of Tilaiya, Kanti, Barki Dhamrai, Chhotki Dhamrai, Pathalgadda, Gudiyon, Bela, Urwan, Kako, Majhgawan and other villages of this locality.
Mr. N. K. Chaudhary (Chief Engineer), Mr. Harish Singh (CSR Manager), Mr. Ajit Sharma (Station In-charge), Dr. Rajneesh (Medical Officer, Tilaiya Dispensary), Mr. Surendra Modi, Mr. Raju Ram, Mr. Dhuplal Yadav, Mr. Horil Pandey were present in the event on behalf of CSR team of THS. Also Mr. Ramesh Prasad (Mukhiya, Kanti panchayat) has graced the program.
From LNJPEH Mr. Santosh Puri (Hospital Administrator) led the unit comprised by Mr. Vikant Singh, Mr. Pravin Singh, Ms. Aarti Kumari (all Optometrists), Mr. Ram Lakhan, Mr. Dinesh Ram (Camp mobilizer), Ms. Arpanya, Ms. Rajni and Mr. Aakash (all students of D. Opt.) that contributed to the eye camp.
12 March 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): With support of SIDBI & Usha International Limited, 9-days residential Usha Swavalamban Silai School Teachers Training is going on by NBJK for total 50 trainee women from Tatijahriya, Ichak and Churchu blocks of Hazaribagh district.
The trainees are getting specifics related to sewing machine maintenance, making of different female-male garments and useful items like bag & mask along with life skills. UIL will provide a new sewing machine with stitching kit, a signboard of Usha Swavalamban Silai School and a guidebook on tailoring to each trainee so that they can start their own Siali School at their places for garments making as well as a training center for neighborhood women-girls commercially.
Mrs. Pammi Devi (Trainer, UIL) says that life skills have been added purposely in curriculum to make the trainees more professional and raise their income through better customer relation. Other trainer Mrs. Mamta Devi calls the exercise as complete & practical to empower these women minutely with dexterity they are learning here.
The training began on 8th March and will end on 16th. Mr. Harish Kumar (Senior Manager, UIL), Mr. Felix Tirkey (Program Coordinator, UIL), Mr. Ankit Anurag (Program Manager, NBJK) and Mr. Shailesh Kumar (Program Coordinator, NBJK) contribute to the program.
09 March 2022, Konar Dam (Hazaribagh): LNJP Eye Hospital-Bahera (Chauparan, Hazaribagh) has organized a Cataract Surgery & Eye Screening Camp at DVC Health Center near Konar Dam with CSR support of Damodar Valley Corporation.
This ensured total 345 OPD while detected Cataract with 75 patients and 54 have availed surgery at base hospital. The eye camp proved helpful for the people from Konar and many nearby villages those were in need of eye care service.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Tiwary (CSR Manager, DVC Hazaribagh) coordinated the event. Mr. Santosh Kumar Puri (Manager, LNJPEH Bahera), Mr. Karunanidhi, Mr. Vikant Kumar Singh and other staffs from the eye hospital have contributed to camp.
08 March 2022, Chakai (Bihar): Under NBJK run SBI Gram Seva project with support of SBI Foundation, International Women’s Day has been celebrated zestfully at village-Heth Chakai in Chakai block of Jamui district (Bihar).
The village girls have presented cultural activities with songs & dance as well as plays upon the themes of Girls’ Education and “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” or Save Daughter-Educate Daughter.
Also a village meeting held and the speakers have highlighted important issues like Equal Rights & Opportunities for Women on this occasion. The Head Teacher of village school with Mr. Kamdev Ram (Sarpanch), Mr. Lallan Kumar Das and Mrs. Shanti Devi (Both Ward Members) of Heth Chakai Panchayat have graced the function. They distributed prizes among girl children.
Mr. S. K. Yajal (Program Manager, SBIGS) coordinated the event and encouraged participation of about 150 women-men from the panchayat.
Next day School Chalo Abhiyan conducted in Mangtadih village with students of Magtadih Middle School as a campaign to enroll children into regular schooling.
08 March 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): Today women trainees of Adopt Silai School Teachers Training under NBJK run Usha Silai School Program with support of Usha International Limited have completed their 7-days residential crash course and Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) handed over certificates to them .
He said that today International Women’s Day also falls coincidentally and we know that women are not less than men in ability, intellect or power, so they must be treated equally in terms of rights & facilities. Despite extraordinary contribution by women to manage our family-society, much needless shackles interrupt their progress; he pointed out and appealed to keep distance from social evils like superstition, female feticide, child marriage etc. Mr. Girija Satish praised UIL for providing tailoring training with new sewing machines to rural women and conveyed his best wishes for all passing out trainees to join a respectable self-employment.
On this occasion, Mr. Felix Tirkey (Program Coordinator, UIL) stated that women’s participation in socio-economic development should be boosted and with NBJK we are trying towards that direction. He was hopeful about economic self-reliance for the women through Usha Silai Schools to be run by them after the training.
Also Mrs. Sandhya Agrawal, Mrs. Nusrat Parveen, Mrs. Meera Devi, Mrs. Pammi Devi, Mr. Vimal Kumar, Mr. Kamaljeet, Mr. Shailesh Kumar and Mr. Ankit Anurag were present in certificate distribution ceremony.
06 March 2022, Ranchi: Under the joint auspices of Ranchi Press Club-Vishwa Yuvak Kendra-Yuva Manthan Sansthan-Live Foundation, Women Empowerment Award has been conferred to Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) at Ranchi Press Club.
He was one among the 17 men awardees from Jharkhand those contributed to women empowerment in the state. As the chief guest of this ceremony, Mr. Rameshwar Oraon (Hon. Finance Minister, Jharkhand) handed over the memento to Mr. Girija Satish and others.
Mr. Sanjay Mishra (President, Ranchi Press Club), Mr. Sudhir Pal (Yuva Manthan Sansthan), Ms. Chhandoshri Thakur (Live Foundation), Dr. Bharti, Ms Shalini, Dr. Kiran, Ms Babita and others were present on the occasion.
06 March 2022, Kotilwa (Banke Bazar, Gaya): LokNayak JayPrakash Eye Hospital, Kajha (Wazirganj, Gaya) has organized a free Eye Checkup Camp at village-Kotilwa of Banke Bazar block in Gaya district.
This was held under Civic Action Program by 159 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force. There were total 50 OPD and 15 patients have been found with Cataract. They would avail free of cost surgery at the base hospital soon.
The village is situated in naxal prone area and LNJP Eye Hospital has supported the initiative of CRPF to earn people’s trust for their welfare as well as to connect them with mainstream.
03-04 March 2022, Tatijhariya & Katkamsandi (Hazaribagh): With support of Sightsavers, DBCS & JSLPS, LNJP Eye Hospital-Bahera (Chauparan, Hazaribagh) has organized free Eye Checkup-cum-Cataract Detection Camps under Netra Vasant-Rural Eye Health Program.
On 3rd March at Tatijhariya block office premises, total 106 persons turned up for their eye checkup and 41 were found with Cataract. 30 such patients have been taken to LNJPEH for their surgery.
Another camp held on 4th March at Panchayat Building of Dato village in Katkamsandi block where out of total 111 OPD, 32 persons have been detected with Cataract and 30 could be delivered to base hospital for operation.
Remaining patients have been advised for medicines & glasses at both the places.
02 March 2022, Amritnagar (Hazaribagh): Adopt Silai School Teachers Training has been started under NBJK run Usha Silai School Program with support of Usha International Ltd.
This 7-days residential training was inaugurated by Mr. Anand Abhinav (Program Director, NBJK). He termed the program as a big step towards women empowerment. He said that financially self-reliant skilled women perform a lot to development of their family-society and play important role to eradicate gender discrimination.
On the occasion, Mr. Felix Tirkey (Program Co-ordinator, UIL) informed that the training is being participated by total 17 women, out of which 9 are from Bengabad block of Giridih district while 8 women came from Tatijhariya, Daroo & Sadar blocks of Hazaribagh district. They will learn practically about maintenance of sewing machine and making of different garments with usable items like bag, mask etc and after training, each trainee will be provided certificate, new sewing machine with signboard, guidebook to start their own Usha Silai School at their respective places, he added.
As the trainers Mrs. Sandhya Agrawal, Mrs. Nusrat Parveen and Mr. Kamaljeet Sharma (Service Engineer, UIL) were present in the event while Mr. Ankit Anurag (Program Manager, NBJK) with Mr. Shailesh Kumar and Mr. Rajesh Sharma (both Program Co-ordinators, NBJK) contribute to organizing the training.
