01 March 2022, Hazaribagh: Under Action Village India supported Girls’ Education program by NBJK, Parents-Teacher meetings held at Remedial Coaching Centers for Girl Children. These RCCs are running at 17 villages namely Babhanwai, Gurhet, Lupung, Pabra, Kanchanpur, Sultana, Meyatu etc in Sadar, Katkamsandi and Katkamdag blocks of Hazaribagh district where more than 600 girl students of class 8, 9 & 10 get free of cost extra tuition for their school subjects like Science, Maths and English.
In the period of 18-27 February 2022, At each center during these meetings, the parents have asked about academic progress of their wards and the teacher in-charge for concerned RCC has presented individual report of students before them. There were discussions about the objective of girls’ education, better functioning of RCCs and prevention of child marriage. Also the parents came to know about other activities by NBJK towards integrated rural development and their views upon girls’ education as well as their marriageable age have been collected.

28 February 2022, Bodhgaya (Gaya): With support of Sightsavers and Jeevika, LNJP Eye Hospital-Kajha has organized one day training upon Eye Health Care for Community Mobilizers & Community Nutrition Resource Persons. Around 100 CMs & CNRPs from Mohanpur, Dobhi and Bodhgaya blocks have participated in this event.
Dr. Iftekhar Alam has facilitated the training while Ms Pooja Garg (District Co-ordinator, Sightsavers) played important role in coordination. They disseminated basic information about preventive-curative measures for eye care in villages and encouraged the trainees to access people in need of eye health care as well as PwDs groups.
Dr. Alam focused upon treatment of Cataract, Glaucoma and Refractive Errors specifically to minimize the cases of avoidable blindness. He suggested the participants to send such concerned patients to nearby health centers and LNJPEH-Kajha as the eye hospital provides a wide range of services including free of cost or subsidized surgery facility for helpless persons, Ayushman card holders and general people.
Md. Nayeem (Asst. Manager, LBHC) and Ms Divya Sinha (LNJPEH-Kajha) have assisted to arrange the affair.
24 February 2022, Katkamsandi (Hazaribagh): Under Netra Vasant – Rural Eye Health Program, a free Eye Checkup-cum-Cataract Detection camp was organized by NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Bahera (Chauparan, Hazaribagh) with support of Sightsavers, District Blindness Control Society and Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society.
The camp held at JSLPS premise and ensured 146 OPD on the spot. The medical team has identified 39 persons suffering from Cataract, sent 35 patients to base hospital for their free of cost surgery and prescribed glasses & medicines for remaining patients.
Dr. Praveen Kumar, Ms Madhupriya, Ms Sanju Devi from LNJPEH, Mr. Kirti Rawat (DPM) & Deepak Sharma from Sightsavers as well as Mr. Sudheer Kumar Gupta (BPM), Rinku Kumari, Mrs. Shobha Kumari (CCS), Mr. Aman, Mr. Kavindra and others from JSLPS have contributed to make the event successful.
It’s significant that 90% blindness is avoidable, of which nearly 82% is due to Cataract while 8% is caused by uncorrected refractive errors.
23 February 2022, Hazaribagh: On 21 February at Patna, State Bank of India DMD & CDO Mr. Om Prakash Mishra offered a symbolic cheque worth Rs. 73,76,418 to Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary-NBJK) for mobile clinic van under SBI Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels project by SBI Foundation, the CSR wing of SBI.
Mr. Mishra appreciated NBJK as an active grassroots NGO engaged with community welfare under rural development programs for past 50 years in Bihar & Jharkhand. He said that providing financial support is not as difficult as embodying direct public service. Describing utility of the Van, he said that it would provide primary, preventive, curative and referral health services at people’s doorstep in remote rural areas of BodhGaya.
Also Mr. Mrigank Jain (GM, SBI-Patna Circle), Mr. Manoj Kumar Gupta and other senior officers of SBI were present on the occasion.
The Mobile Clinic Van provided to NBJK will be equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities like portable microscope, ECG, gastro fiberscope, autoclave, stretcher, laboratory facility and other necessary diagnostic accessories. The unit will be accompanied by a medical team consisting of a doctor, lab technician, pharmacist and health assistant-cum-driver.
Mr. Satish Girija expressed sincere gratitude towards SBI Foundation and the officers those supported the endeavor. He said that the very project of SBI Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels will benefit about 20,000 people across 22 identified Gram Panchayats every month in BodhGaya block of Gaya district in Bihar. Along with clinical facilities in remote villages, this unit will run specialized health and awareness camps, he added.
22 February 2022, Hazaribagh: With support of Action Village India @actionvillageindia, NBJK facilitates girl children to complete their secondary education through sponsorship, Remedial Coaching Centers and motivates concerned families towards girls’ education with condition of No Child Marriage.
Girls’ Education program provides school fees, uniforms & books-notebooks to 300 girl students from villages of Gaya, Dumka, Chatra, Ranchi & Hazaribag districts of Bihar and Jharkhand.
Under the program total 18 RCCs run as 16 at villages of Sadar, Katkamdag & Katkamsandi blocks of Hazaribagh district and 2 at Bodhgaya block in Gaya district.
These RCCs offer extra tuition upon Science, Maths & English for total 662 rural girl students of class VIII, IX & X and organize extra-curricular activities as well as orientate teachers to update them. Last year total 216 girl students appeared for class X board examination and secured 96% result.
18 February 2022, Motihari (East Champaran), Bihar: Lok Samiti, a non-political organization founded by Loknayak JP has denounced sad incidents of Mahatma Gandhi’s statues breaking in Champaran where Gandhi Jee initiated his peaceful resistance against British rule in India.
Recently in the night of 13 February at Charkha Park of Motihari, district town of East Champaran; a statue of Gandhiji has been broken. Local unit of Lok Samiti with some other like-minded groups, protested the occurrence through a silent fast at the park on 15 February. Later Mr. Ray Sundar Dev Sharma (President, District Lok Samiti, East Champaran) slammed this unfortunate happening and demanded proper security of the place. Also he questioned about maintenance of and substandard materials used in the statue. Another heartbreaking incident took place at Turkaulia, about 12 km south-west from Motihari where some anti-social elements have insulted Gandhi’s statue, hung wrappers of liquor bottles around its neck and discolored the face.
Mr. Kaushal Ganesh Azad (National Co-ordinator, Lok Samiti) deplored the very trend of offending Mahatma Gandhi as he can’t be defeated ideologically. Mr. Girija Satish (President, National Lok Samiti) condemned the depressing episodes of Motihari, the place attached historically with Father of the Nation. He insisted for a full proved policy by the Government for preservation of such places with constant safety and honour to statues of great persons.
12 February 2022, Bahera (Chauparan), Hazaribagh: NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital has launched a new facility for Retina Surgery. As the chief guest, Mr. Jayant Sinha @jayantsinhabjp (Hon. MP, Hazaribagh) participated in the programme while Mr. Sanjay Arora (MD, D’decor) @Ddecor graced the event online as a distinguished guest. Both of them jointly inaugurated Retina Surgery Unit of LNJPEH equipped with Vitrectomy machine and dedicated this to the people.
On the occasion, Hon. MP said that D’decor Company has provided financial support to the eye hospital for this very useful apparatus and it’s a matter of pride for this region. He praised D’decor & Mr. Sanjay Arora as well as greeted all present in the inaugural function. Hon. MP and Mr. Sanjay Arora have assured for all possible support to LNJPEH.
Before this Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) welcomed the guests and appreciated the help from Hon. MP Mr. Jayant Sinha & the MD of D’decor Mr. Sanjay Arora. This enables us to serve more people suffering from Retina problems, he mentioned with gratitude.
It’s noteworthy that earlier such eye patients had no choice but to go to big cities for their treatment. Now they can get the same locally at less cost or even no cost if someone is absolutely helpless or possesses Ayushman Card.

08 February 2022, Gaya: NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Kajha (Gaya) with supports from Mission For Vision, Wen Giving Foundation, Vivekananda Mission Asram Netra Niramay Niketan, L V Prasad Eye Institute, Sankara Eye Hospitals & Give India, has received an Appreciation Certificate from the Government of Bihar for top performance under Ayushman Bharat (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna) program.
Mr. Sukanto Mete (Manager, LNJPEH-Kajha) has received the certificate from the hands of Dr. K. K. Roy (Civil Surgeon, Gaya) at Jay Prakash Hospital, Gaya in presence of Mr. Nalin Maurya (DPM), Mrs. Reena (District MIS), Ayushman Mitras and representatives of 20 hospitals impaneled under Ayushman Bharat.

02 February 2022, Bahera (Chauparan), Hazaribagh: We are delighted to inform all that with support of Mr. Jayant Sinha @jayantsinhabjp (Hon. MP, Hazaribagh) the very facility of Retina Surgery is going to be started at #LokNayakJayPrakashEyeHospital-Bahera very soon and Hon. MP along with Mr. Ashok Arora (MD, D’decor) @Ddecor will inaugurate the same on 12th February, Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) has announced in a press conference held at LNJPEH today.
This will be the first eye hospital of Hazaribagh with such competence, he added. Mr. Satish Girija said that since last 15 years LNJPEH-Bahera has been serving people as provided them quality eye care with treatment of Cataract, Glaucoma, Medical Retina & other eye diseases successfully and now more patients will be benefitted by introducing the capability of Retina surgery here, for which D’décor has provided necessary equipments. He updated media persons that during the year 2021, we ensured 173569 OPD and 22730 Cataract Surgeries through 4 units of LNJPEH at Bahera, Dumka, Kajha (Gaya) & Devghar.

30 January 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): Today a symposium upon Religious Harmony was organized on 74th Martyrdom Day of Mahatma Gandhi at NBJK co-ordination office. Mr. Swarup Chand Jain (Senior Advocate) chaired the program which began with garlanding photo of Gandhi Jee by all and mass hymn “Eeshwar Allah Tero Naam, Sabko Sanmati De Bhagwan”.
In course of introducing the subject, Mr. Girija Satish has paid homage to late Prabhu Nath Sharma (a Gandhian & founder member-cum-treasurer of NBJK) and said that Sarvodaya Jagat has decided to organize symposium upon religious harmony by all Gandhian organizations and this event is a part of such episode. He regretted that a well-planned attempt is taking place these days to justify the murder of Gandhi, while Gandhian thoughts can’t judged in a limited perspective like freedom movement only. Gandhi Jee did a lot of works for upliftment of all exploited classes including women, dalit & minority as well as disseminated the message of peace to world; he pointed out and mentioned him as a source of insipiration for the renowned personalities like Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela with many more. Mr. Girija Satish has termed goodness as the basic human nature, peace & love as gist of all faiths and expressed hope for a peaceful world one day.
As the keynote speaker, Mr. Gautam Sagar Rana (Ex-MLA) has depicted the mourning across India & world after assassination of Mahatma Gandhi who reached the culmination of compassion & kindheartedness. He praised the vision of Gandhi Jee who warned about the risk of our dependency over machines, now appearing gradually as artificial intelligence. He considered the partition of India as a temporary incident and was optimistic for reunification, Mr. Rana said. Also he placed resolutions related to Gandhi Vichar Yatra among people and endeavor towards Integration of India-Pakistan-Bangladesh which passed unanimously in the meeting.
Mr. Shamsher Alam has called Father of the Nation as a messanger of love and welcomed his views like liquor prohibition & communal harmony. Dr. (Mrs.) Lalita Rana has compared Gandhi Jee with the lamp that never goes out and said about his works in almost every aspect besides practical application of religion in daily life. Mr. Bateshwar Mehta stressed over Gandhian activities at small scale and Mr. Nandlal Saw (Ex-Mukhiya) focused to spiritualism in place of religion. Mr. Chandra Kumar Yadav described about implanting Gandhian values among children, Mr. Rajesh Kumar talked about suppoting study upon Gandhi Jee and Mr. Pravesh Singh called love above all.
In his presidential address, Mr. Swarup Chand Jain has differentiated between being religious & fanatic. He quoted Gandhi as “My life is my message” and specified his thoughts as immortal.
Mr. Rajeev Singh anchored the dais and Mr. Shankar Rana delivered vote of thanks. About 50 people with NBJK staffs have attended the symposium.
