17 February 2021, Ranchi: As an activity of NBJK run Usha Silai School program with support of Usha International-New Delhi, a residential training program for tribal women on tailoring & sewing machine maintenance started today. There are 10 participants in the training and these women belong to Murhu & Khunti blocks of Khunti district.

Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK), Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma (Treasurer, NBJK), Mr. Felix Tirkey (Usha International) and Mrs. Sandhya Agrawal (Instructor) have inaugurated the event jointly. Mr. Girija Satish said about usefulness as well as need of tailoring skill for livelihood purpose and appreciated Usha International for the initiative to empower women. Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma asked the trainees to devote much time in learning of new skills for better output that creates more demand and brings additional income ultimately. Mr. Felix Tirkey explained about the program now became popular in neighboring countries like Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka also.

The training will end on 25th February and in the meantime trainees will learn about installation-repair of the sewing machine along with making of different kinds of dress & useful items. Mr. Shailesh Kumar has coordinated the affair with help of Mr. Anup, Mr. Dhiraj and Mr. Sanjay.
