Sub-Committee Meeting of #FamilyCounsellingCentre @MinistryWCD

28 January 2019, Hazaribag : NBJK run Family Counselling Centre (FCC) with support of Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi and Jharkhand State Social Welfare Board, Ranchi has called it’s Sub-Committee meeting at Women’s Police Station, Hazaribag. The meeting was presided by Mrs. Munni Kumari Devi (In-Charge, WPS).

The Sub-Committee members have suggested for knowledge sharing meetings by FCC in villages & town area upon marriage offers now being used as a luring practice for sexual harassment of young girls and such nuptials must be protected by court marriage initially. The In-Charge of Women’s Police Station said that an alertness is required among women and youngsters to escape from sexual exploitation in the name of marriage. She advised to launch an inclusive mass awareness campaign through Aanganbadi centres and women SHGs to avoid such frauds.

During this meeting, Mrs. Meera Gupta (Counsellor, FCC) has placed the quarterly report of Family Counselling Centre from November 2018 to January 2019 before the members which includes total 32 cases as marital disputes (11), liquor caused violence (07), disputes with in-laws (04), propety disputes (01), extra-marital relation or second marriage (02) and others (07). The FCC has initiated and settled 17 cases as reconciliation among the parties.

The Sub-Committee meeting was participated by Mrs. Seema Hembrom (Asst. PSI), Mrs. Neena Purty, Mrs. Usha Devi, Mr. Arvind Jha, Mrs. Sheela Kumari, Mrs. Annie Thomas, Mr. Tulsi Dubey, Ms Veena Sethi, Mrs. Sharda Devi and Mr. Chandan Kumar.
