20 March 2021, Hazaribag: NBJK run Family Counseling Center (FCC) with support of Central Social Welfare Board-New Delhi & Jharkhand State Social Welfare Board-Ranchi has called its Sub-committee meeting at Women Police Station premises.
Mrs. Purnima Kumari (SI-WPS) has presided over the event and said that mobile phone plays villainous role to create mistrust between wife-husband these days, long hours on mobile phone makes one suspicious about life partner’s extra-marital relation and family atmosphere becomes painful gradually. Other members of Sub-committee are of the view that financial crisis too contributes to stress within families.
In the meeting, Mrs. Meera Gupta (Counselor, FCC) has placed quarterly report of FCC before the members and said that total 32 cases of family disputes have been registered during January-March 2021. She explained that there were cases of violence caused by alcoholism (9), wife-husband conflict (7), dispute with son & daughter-in-law (3), mental-physical torture (6), dowry (1), land dispute (1), second marriage (1) and other disputes (4). Out of these, 22 cases have been resolved and we are trying to settle pending cases, Mrs. Gupta has informed.
There were other members of Sub-committee like Mrs. Sheela Kumari (Secretary, Stri Shakti), Mrs. Usha Bahen (Anupam Mahila Chetna Samiti), Mr. Tulsi Dubey (Senior Advocate), Mr. Umesh Kumar, Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Counselor, FCC) have participated in the meeting along with Ms Manjusha Priya & Ms Masuhab, the law students from Vinoba Bhawe University-Hazaribag associated with FCC as interns for a short period.
