26 September 2022, Bodhgaya (Gaya): Mr. Lalit Mohan (President-cum-COO, SBI Foundation-Mumbai) arrived to assess SBI Sanjeevani-Clinic on Wheels project by NBJK with support of SBI Foundation. It’s significant that the project provides primary health service across 20 villages of Bodhgaya and Gaya Sadar blocks in Gaya district.
Initially Mr. Lalit Mohan has visited the project office at village-Silaunja and moved to Bataspur, one of the project villages where he inaugurated a Special Health Camp and Swachh Bharat Campaign. On the occasion, SBIF President mentioned about SBI Foundation as CSR arm of State Bank of India and the very bank supports all public welfare works of SBIF. He said that there are around 02 crore beneficiaries of the programs by SBIF and their lives became better than before. Referring to the SBI Sanjeevani-Clinic on Wheels program, Mr. Lalit Mohan expressed hope that it will prove to be a boon for sick people like Sanjeevani Booti. He interacted with beneficiaries of Sanjeevani, ASHA-Anganwadi workers, villagers, media persons, and health personnels’ team on mobile medical van as well as observed the facilities existing inside the van. Also he distributed 40 dustbins made available to local temple, school and anganwadi centre through the program as a contribution to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) was present during the event and he briefed about NBJK engaged with various programs upon education, health, livelihood, support to small organizations and advocacy over issues of common interest in Jharkhand-Bihar since 50 years. He talked about SBI Gram Seva project being executed by the organization at 10 villages of Deoghar-Jamui districts and now SBI Sanjeevani-Clinic on Wheels which provides doctor, medicines & checkup facilities at villages to benefit villagers, especially women-children. Mr. Girija Satish expressed his gratitude to SBI Foundation as well as its President Mr. Lalit Mohan for the efforts related to betterment of agriculture, livelihood and health among the villagers.
Describing the SBI Sanjeevani as a unique initiative in the field of rural health, Mr. Manoranjan Samdarshi (Upmukhiya) said that earlier we used to suffer from frequent sickness, but now feel relief due to the program. Mr. Veeru Kumar (Member, Panchayat Samiti) said that the work which the government should have done is being done by a bank and an organization together. He described the Sanjeevani mobile van as a miracle, which is equipped with all the facilities and provides help immediately. Dr. Saba Fatima (Gynecologist) termed this health initiative as very effective for women as it offers doorstep service and she praised SBIF-NBJK.
Also many dignitaries like Mr. Abhay Kumar (RM-SBI), Mr. Jora Singh (DGM-SBI), Mr. Jitendra Kumar (CBM-SBI, Sherghati), Mr. Pawan Lal Gupta (BM-NBJK, Bodhgaya) and others have graced the function. Md. Nayeem (Asst. Manager, LBHC) anchored the dais and Mr. Santosh Kumar (Principal, KPPS) thanked all at the end.
