16 June 2026, Chatra/Godda/Pakur: The SBI Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels Program, supported by SBI Foundation, continues to improve access to healthcare services in remote and underserved villages of Chatra, Godda and Pakur districts through Mobile Medical Units (MMUs).
During the reporting period, a total of 136 outreach health camps were organized across the three districts, benefiting 3,033 patients. The program is being implemented in 20 villages each in Kunda and Lawalong blocks of Chatra district, Poraiyahat block of Godda district, and Pakuriya block of Pakur district.
In Chatra district, 44 outreach health camps were conducted, providing treatment to 932 patients, including 587 new OPD patients and 345 follow-up patients. Additionally, on-the-spot pathological tests were conducted for 412 patients.
In Godda district, 48 health camps facilitated treatment for 1,154 patients, comprising 789 new OPD patients and 365 follow-up patients. Pathological examinations were conducted for 456 patients.
Similarly, in Pakur district, 44 outreach health camps provided treatment to 947 patients, including 663 new OPD patients and 284 follow-up patients. A total of 182 patients underwent pathological testing.
The camps addressed a wide range of common health conditions, including weakness, skin infections, hypertension, cough and cold, body pain, fever, joint pain, loose motion, gastric disorders, diabetes, and ENT-related ailments. Free medicines were provided to all patients requiring treatment.
To promote preventive healthcare and community awareness, one health awareness camp was organized in each district. The awareness camps were conducted in Madandih village of Lawalong block (Chatra), Karikadar village of Poraiyahat block (Godda), and Paliyadaha village of Pakuriya block (Pakur).
The Mobile Medical Units are specially designed and fully equipped clinics on wheels, enabling healthcare services to reach remote communities. Each MMU is staffed by a Medical Officer, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), Pharmacist, Lab Technician, and Driver, ensuring comprehensive primary healthcare services at the community level.
The SBI Sanjeevani Program reflects a strong commitment to improving healthcare accessibility for vulnerable and underserved populations, bringing essential medical services closer to people’s doorsteps and contributing to healthier rural communities.
