29 November 2022, Ranchi-Godda: Under Usha Silai School program by NBJK with support of Usha International Limited, 30 rural women are learning tailoring skills deeply to open Usha Ssilai Schools at their respective places.
The training has been started at Chakla (Ranchi) with Sundarpaharii (Godda) on 24th November simultaneously and will end on 2nd December 2022.
At Ranchi, a batch of 15 women trainees have joined this residential setup under guidance of Mrs. Pammi Devi (Master Trainer, UIL) and Mr. Gopal Kumar Mishra (Service Engineer, UIL) while other batch of 15 women at Godda are being trained by UIL’s master trainer Mrs. Anita Soreng and Service Engineer Mr. Balveer Sharma.
Besides designing, cutting and stitching of popular dresses, the trainees get exposure to the functioning of parts in any sewing machine, their disbanding & assembling along with minor repair or changing components if required. Also they learn life skills for business acumen.
The very objective is to enable the women to teach their learnt skill to other aspirants as well as to work as a professional tailor. In both the ways, they can enhance their income with self-employment.
After completion of the training, each participant will get an Usha Sewing machine, a signage board, service mannual book, syllabus, Guide Book and Silai School Teachers’ certificate.
Mr. Felix Tirkey (State Program Manager, UIL) monitors the affair. Mr. Ankit Anurag (Program Manager, NBJK) and Mr. Shailesh Kumar (project Coordinator, NBJK) have contributed to organize the training.
