22 December 2021, Bodhgaya (Gaya): Sightsavers India & NBJK have organized a meeting of stakeholders for strengthening of eye care services in Gaya District. The event held at Mahabodhi Hotel Resort & Convention Center, Bodhgaya and inaugurated by Dr. K. K.  Roy (Civil Surgeon) as the chief guest on 15 December. Also Mr. Girija Satish (President & founder, NBJK), Ms. Sujata Rani (Project Officer, Sightsavers India), Mr. Nikhlesh Ranjan (DPM, NBJK), Dr. Shrarvan Kumar (ACMO, JPNH-Gaya), Mr. Nilesh Kumar (DPM JPNH-Gaya), Mr. Binay Kumar (DCM, JPNH-Gaya), Mr. Sonu Raj (Asst. Manager, Bhansali Trust), Mr. Mukesh Kashyap (Food Officer, Govt. of Bihar) and 24 blocks MICOs of the district were present on the occasion.

Ms. Sujata Rani has thrown light over SightSavers & NBJK’s initiatives and achievements upon eye care services. She mentioned about strategy for Rural Eye Health Care program while Mr. Shyam Prasad shared beneficiaries’ experiences. The Civil Surgeon Dr. K. K. Roy has focused on high rate of refractive errors among children and pointed out about challenges of transportation in the district. He suggested for Mobile van & school screening camps. Mr. Girija Satish said about NBJK’s efforts and the organization run LNJP Eye Hospital, Kajha (Wazzirganj, Gaya).

Also Dr Shrarvan Kumar, Mr. Nilesh Kumar, Mr. Shambhu Prakash (Health & Sanitation Manager, Jeevika) and Mr. Sonu Raj have extended their full support to Rural Eye Health program by Sightsavers & NBJK.
