NBJK Promoted #DisableCricketTeam Won State Level Tournament @ActionVillageIn @BigLotteryFund

8-10 March 2017, Ranchi: The Disable Cricket Team from Hazaribag district has won State Level Cricket Tournament organized by Jharkhand Divyang Sports & Welfare Academy. Hazaribag team has started with a victory over Bokaro by 27 runs. On 9th, it won over Chatra with 10 wickets and secured it’s birth for Semi-final scheduled on 10th when it defeated Ranchi and made entry for the final of this tournament.

In final match, Hazaribag team has performed well against Giridih and won the tournament. Mr. Mayank, a team member was declared as Man of the Match and Series Allrounder. The team was declared as the Champion Team by JDSWA, the organizer of this Disable Cricket Tournament played among 12 Disable teams from Hazaribag, Chatra, Giridih, Dhanbad, Godda, Jamtara, Ramgarh, Patratu, Simdega, Jamshedpur, Bokaro and Ranchi.

Hazaribag team was comprised by Messrs Rajkumar (Captain), Ashish Kumar Das (Vice-captain), Deepak Sharma (Coach), Upendra Turi & Pintu Das (Team Managers), Jitendra Ravidas, Teeku Mehta, Arjun Mahto, Rajesh Ranjan, Shashi Kumar Das and Jagdish Kumar Mahto. These were felicitated by NBJK also. On 11th March, Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) met all team members, congratulated them and presented a Cup with best wishes on behalf of the organization.

Its noteworthy that NBJK run programme on Disability Rights with support of AVI-BLF (UK) has played a crucial role in formation and promotion of Hazaribag district team of disable cricketers. NBJK has provided them jersies while Mr. Pradip Prasad (Social Worker) sponsored Cricket Kit for the team. Most of the team members are associated with different block level DPOs (Disable People Organizations) and they have shown their cricket skill on World Disability Day also. All the team members have thanked NBJK for cooperation and encouragement.
