17 October 2022, Kajha (Wazirganj, Gaya): Mr. Matsutaro Yamasaki, Deputy Consul General from Consulate General office of Japan, Kolkata arrived at NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Kajha (Wazirganj, Gaya) and donated 08 medical equipments like 02 Slit Lamps, 01 Auto Refractometer, 01 Non-Contact Tonometer, 01 A-Sean, 01 Yag Laser, 01 Operating Microscope and 01 Phaco-Machine on behalf of the People of Japan to LNJPEH.
Mr. Yamasaki was received warmly by Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) with team LNJPEH-Kajha and he lit a lamp before statue of Lord Budha there. The DCG made rounds through different sections of the hospital with Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Manager, NBJK), Dr. Farnaz Kausar (Ophthalmologist) and Mr. Sukanto Mete (Manager).
On this occasion, a welcome meeting held in honour of Mr. Matsutaro Yamasaki and Dr. Shravan Kumar (ACMO, Sadar Hospital-Gaya) graced the event.
In the meeting, Mr. Satish Girija expressed sincere gratitude towards the people of Japan, Japan Consulate General Office team and Mr. M. Yamasaki, the Deputy Consul General of Japan. He presented a brief modus operandi of LNJPEH-Kajha which includes eye screening camps at villages, identification of Cataract patients, their transportation to hospital, required tests-surgery, bringing them back to their villages with post operative medicines and everything without any charge from patients in course of elimination of needless blindness. He mentioned about support from DBCS & Ayushman Bharat.
Dr Shravan Kumar has appreciated NBJK and its supporters like Japan Consulate for making quality eye care service available for needy poor people in village. He assured for all possible co-operation from his end.
Mr. Sukanto Mete explained about the medical equipments provided by the CGOJ-Kolkata. Mr. Gandharv Gaurav has proposed vote of thanks and said that such medical equipments will increase our efficiency to serve people.
