23 March 2026, Hazaribagh: An Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness Workshop was organized at the NBJK auditorium by the MSME Development Office, Ranchi, under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, in collaboration with the SIDBI–NBJK Micro Enterprise Promotion Programme.
During the workshop held on 17 March, Assistant Director Ms. Jyotsna Gudiya emphasized the growing need for awareness of intellectual property rights among micro and small entrepreneurs to safeguard innovation and promote knowledge-driven business strategies.
Resource person Advocate Mr. Vivek Agrawal provided detailed information on key components of IPR, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, industrial designs, and geographical indication (GI) tags, citing examples such as Darjeeling tea, Banarasi sarees, Madhubani painting, and Sohrai painting.
District Industries Centre General Manager Mr. Shirish Tripathi highlighted various government schemes such as PM Vishwakarma, PMFME, and PMEGP, assuring continued institutional support to entrepreneurs. Young Professional Mr. Krishna Rao informed participants about financial assistance available from the Ministry of MSME for patent, trademark, and GI registration.
Addressing the gathering, NBJK President Mr. Girija Satish appreciated the initiative and stated that such efforts would strengthen local entrepreneurship and enhance livelihood opportunities. He also mentioned other livelihood promotion programmes being implemented by NBJK.
During the programme, Mr. Girija Satish was felicitated with a shawl, memento, and sapling in recognition of his contribution.
