02 October 2025, Hazaribagh: The 156th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, was celebrated with simplicity and reverence at the Gandhi Memorial Site, Kumhartoli, Hazaribagh. The event was jointly organized by Lok Samiti and Jharkhand Sarvodaya Mandal and was presided over by senior advocate Mr. Swaroopchand Jain.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Jain said that Mahatma Gandhi’s entire life was dedicated to moral values. Through the powerful tools of truth and non-violence, he led India to freedom from British rule. Mr. Girija Satish, National President of Lok Samiti, emphasized that Gandhi’s ideals are exemplary for the entire world. He added that through the concept of Gram Swaraj, Gandhi paved the way for a self-reliant India and spread the message of social harmony.

Mr. Shankar Rana, State President of Jharkhand Sarvodaya Mandal, stated that Gandhi’s life remained devoted to humanity till the end. His half-cloth and walking stick were not mere symbols but reflections of inner strength and self-discipline.

On this occasion, Mr. Manoj Verma, President of the Gandhi Memorial Committee, Mr. J.P. Jain, Director of Gurukul Coaching Institute, Dr. Pramod Kumar (Retd. Professor), Advocate Arvind Jha, Mr. Subodh Sadhak, Mr. Umashankar Singh, Mr. Sitaram, Ms. Bhumika Jain, Ms. Varda Jain, and several others shared their thoughts on the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

Members of Lok Samiti and Sarvodaya Mandal also paid floral tributes to the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at Indrapuri Chowk, the lake premises, the Collectorate campus, and the St. Columba’s College grounds.

The ceremony concluded with collective prayers for peace, harmony, and the continued relevance of Gandhian values in society.
