25 April 2019, Hazaribag: With support of Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi and Jharkhand State Social Welfare Board, Ranchi; NBJK run Family Counselling Centre (FCC) has called its Sub-Commitee meeting at the premises of Women Police Station, Hazaribag.
This quarterly meeting was presided by Mrs. Radha Kumari (In-charge, WPS) who suggested the counsellors to visit homes of both plaintiff & defendent to know the reality inside any case. She said that pre-marital counselling by FCC can be a healthy practice to avoid future problems in one’s family life.
All Sub-Committee members were consentient that there should be a Stay Home in Hazaribag for helpless and vulnerable women at risk. Also they recommended to disseminate the information about Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act amid students of schools/colleges.
During the meeting, Mrs. Meera Gupta (Counsellor, FCC) has placed the quarterly report (February-April 2019) of FCC before the Sub-committee members and said that total 35 cases have been registered during the period. There were 13 cases for Marital Dispute between wives-husbands, 07 cases for Alcohol Born Violence in families, 02 cases as Second Marriage by husbands, 04 cases of Land Dispute, 01 case for Dowry, 03 cases as Conflict with Clan people, 04 cases of Quarrel with Son & Daughter-in-law and 01 case of Teasing, she pointed out. Mrs. Gupta has informed the members about settlement of 19 cases and further efforts to reconcile others also.
The sub-committee meeting was attended by Mrs. Sheela Kumari, Mrs. Munni Kumari (ASI), Mrs. Usha Devi, Mrs. Annie Thomas, Ms Veena Sethi, Mrs. Shiva Kumari, Mrs. Sharda Devi, Mr. Arvind Jha and Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Counsellor, FCC).
