Eye Care Service reaches to People

During the period of 11 – 27 June 2022, Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation supported and NBJK run Vimla Ramakrishn Bajaj Eye Hospital, Deoghar has conducted eye screening camps in Deoghar urban as well as rural areas like ward no. 29, 5, 4 Rupsagar, Barkatola middle school, Karankol anganwadi center, Balsara, Pathalgadda, Berwatand, Kothiys, Nayachitkath and Khagra.

These camps have ensured 349 OPD out of which 154 found with refractive error, 84 with cataract, 6 with pterigium and 2 with other complications. 23 eye patients got medicines in camps and 48 have been referred to base hospital.

Likewise Sightsavers supported Vision Center at Bengabad (Giridih) has conducted community awareness and household screening at villeges namely Palmo of Tisri block and Bendgaigari, Barkitand, Ambatand, Ghaghra and Kajro of Bengabad block in Giridih district. This resulted as 178 OPD and identified 49 with refractive error, 35 with cataract, 9 with pterigium and 10 with other eye problems. The vision center referred all cataract patients to VRBEH, Deoghar.
