25 March 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): In closing ceremony of three days Entrepreneurship Sharing workshop held under NBJK run Small Group Support project with support of Bread for the World, Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) said that without participation of women it’s impractical to imagine about socio-economic development in shifting circumstances.

He was addressing entrepreneurs and called for promotion of women in the field of enterprises & business so that they can play active role to uplift their families or society. NBJK president urged people associated with different income generation activities for sharing of the changes took place in their live in terms of income, empowerment, capacity building, socialization, collective development and about future planning with feedback for program enrichment as well as durable linkage with the organization.

On this occasion, Mrs. Mehrunnisha Khatoon (Bada Bazar, Hazaribagh), an NBJK beneficiary since last seven years has shared about her struggle right from the point when she decided to be a hawker of bangles & other makeup items for women and used to visit door to door but now she runs a small shop of the same items near her place. She said that there are so many things like women SHG, easy microcredit, collective saving, emergency support, awareness etc those enabled an illiterate woman like me to provide college education for my daughters even.

During the workshop many women told their experiences of change they brought through own hard work along with morale boost up and little financial support from NBJK. Mr. Adhin Mahto (Resource Person) informed that most of the participants are women among these small entrepreneurs and they have contributed to socio-economic improvement coupled with self-reliance at micro level.

There were 65 women-men entrepreneurs from the blocks like Sadar, Daroo, Katkamdag, Katkamsandi, Ichak of Hazaribagh, Hunterganj of Chatra, Mandar and chanho of Ranchi districts. They are linked with projects like women SHGs, tailoring training, carers groups and support to social activists by NBJK. Mr. Rajeev Singh and Mr. Shankar Rana looked after the arrangement.
