Empowering Women, One Stitch at a Time!

12 March 2024, Hazaribagh: Meet Pooja Devi from Silwar Kala village near Hazaribagh. With the support of the Usha Silai School Program by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra and Usha International, she transformed her life.

Struggling with financial worries, Pooja seized the opportunity to join the Usha Silai School Program. After completing her training, she became a certified professional tailor, equipped with a brand new sewing machine and the skills to teach others in her village.

Today, Pooja not only supports her family but also empowers other women through her training sessions. This program isn’t just about stitching clothes; it’s about stitching together communities and dreams.

Last year alone, 350 women received training, and 23 teachers had an eye-opening exposure visit to a Garment Export Unit. Currently, over 1300 women across Jharkhand and Bihar are benefitting from this program.
