Empowering Women for a Safer Tomorrow!

11 March 2024, Samastipur (Bihar): Celebrating the spirit of #InternationalWomensDay, Lok Samiti organized a dynamic Women’s Convention at Suraj Narayan Seva Samiti, Mohiuddin Nagar (Samastipur), Bihar. With over 200 passionate women in attendance, the event was a resounding call for progress and safety.

Under the esteemed leadership of Mrs. Vibha Devi and Prof. Subhash Prasad, the convention commenced with the symbolic lighting of lamps and a jubilant cake cutting ceremony. Mr. Shivji Singh, General Secretary of Bihar State Lok Samiti, lauded women’s invaluable contributions to nation-building and called for urgent government action to ensure women’s safety.

Ex-District Councilor Mrs. Premlata Roy emphasized the need for 50% reservation for women across all levels, highlighting the remarkable achievements of girl children amidst adversity. Joined by esteemed speakers including Ms. Rashmi Kumari, Ms. Priya Kumari (both from Bihar Police Service), and farmer leader Mr. Dinkar Singh, the convention echoed the collective demand for a safer, more equitable society. Samastipur District Lok Samiti president Mr. Umashankar Singh conveyed vote of thanks.

Also in Jharkhand, Saraikela District Lok Samiti and Lok Hit Sanstha (Simla, Saraikela) have organized Women’s Convention. They demanded for Liquor Ban and benefit of Government schemes to single woman & her children.
