11 November 2020, Silaunja (Bodhgaya), Gaya: With support of Finolex Industries-Pune, NBJK has distributed Covid relief materials among poor & needy persons at Lord Buddha Home for Children, an orphanage run by the organization.

There were 300 beneficiaries of this event, 242 came from Chhachh, Sialunja, Bataspur villages, 58 belong to LBHC family and 90% recipients were widows, PwDs, migrant labourers, orphan children etc. Each of them received dry food & hygiene kits consisting of 5 kg Flour, 5 kg Rice, 2 kg Pulse, 1 kg Sugar, 1 kg Suji, 1 lit Mustard Oil, 1 packet Tea leaf, 1 packet Biscuit, 1 packet Turmeric powder, 1 packet Chilli powder, 1 pc Sanitary pad, 4 pcs Mask, 10 pcs Hand Sanitizer, 1 pc Soap and 10 pcs of earthen lamp.

Mr. Adarsh Kumar (Representative, Finolex Pipes), Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Director, NBJK), Md. Nayeem (Asst. Manager, LBHC), Mr. Lalan Thakur (Office In-charge, LBHC) have monitored the relief campaign. Mr. Gaurav expressed sincere gratitude to Finolex Industries for their kind support.

13 October 2020, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): Hazaribag District Lok Samiti has organized a condolence meeting after getting the news on sad demise of Mr. Vijay Kumar (President, Bihar State Lok Samiti) and paid him rich tribute.

Mr. Girija Satish (National President, Lok Samiti) informed that in evening of 12 October at Gandhi Seva Ashrama, Jalalpur (Dist-Saran, Bihar), 84 years old Vijay Babu met a cardiac arrest and he couldn’t be saved. He said that late Vijay Babu was very closely associated with the leaders like Vinoba, JP, Acharya Ram Murti and contributed actively as the president of Lok Samiti’s Bihar Unit since last seven years. Mr. Girija Satish called him a grass root social worker with strong grip over people because of his image whose passing away is a huge loss to the organization.

Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma (Founder Member, Hazaribag District Lok Samiti) appreciated the Lok Samiti leader for his exemplary personality. Mr. Shankar Rana (Coordinator, Jharkhand State Lok Samiti) talked about late Vijay Babu’s simple life dedicated to the nation and described him as a source of inspiration. Also Messrs Satish Girija (President, Jharkhand State Lok Samiti), Gandharv Gaurav, Anand Abhinav, Abhay Kumar, Niki Soren, Arun Verma, Mithilesh Kumar, Prawesh Singh, Pawan Lal Gupta, Rajkumar, Sudeep have participated in the condolence meeting. At the end all have observed two minutes silence to pray peace for the departed soul.

11 October 2020, Hazaribagh: The followers of Loknayak Jay Prakash Narayan have celebrated his 118th birth anniversary at JP Memorial place near Gandhi Ashrama, Parnala (Kumhartoli) and paid him their rich tribute. They garlanded the photograph of JP and organized a meeting on this occasion.

Mr. Girija Satish (National President, Lok Samiti) headed the program and expressed deep concern over little or no knowledge upon great persons among new generation. He explained a short life history of JP and suggested for suitable modifications in school syllabus. Mr. Girija Satish said that political parties or governments support status quo but socio-political thinkers like Gandhi-Vinoba-JP bring changes. He appealed the people to get rid of social evils in the name of religion & tradition.

Mr. Swaroop Chand Jain described JP as a magnificent personality who led a life full of renunciation & austerity and he denied even PM’s post with courage. Mr. Satyendra Kumar was in favor of a people’s movement again against injustice & exploitation. Dr. Vishwanath Azad has remembered few memoirs of JP as the leader of Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Vahini and said about the mass movement of 1974 in Bihar that made people aware in other parts of India too.

Also Mr. Krishna Ram, Mr. Shankar Rana, Mr. Rahul Kumar, Ms Sonali Prabha, Ms Pinki Kumari, Mr. Rohit Sony, Mr. Rahul Shekhar and Mr. Satyendra Sony were other speakers. At last all the participants have offered flowers to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Ashrama.

09 October 2020, Amritnagar (Hazaribagh): With support of Benevity and Give India, potato seeds & fertilizers have been distributed among migrant laborers by NBJK at its coordination office. This is for their sustainable livelihood and rehabilitation.

Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) handed over the support materials to the migrant laborers and said that we need to pay attention over agriculture with irrigation as maximum livelihood can be generated from agriculture sector in the villages. Today more than 100 migrant laborers or small farmers have received 36 kg potato seeds, 2.5 kg DAP and 500 grams potash for each.

The distribution team was comprised of Messrs Ranjan Kumar (Program Coordinator), Alok Toppo, Vinod Rana, Ashok Mishra, Parmeshwar Rana, Surendra Rana, Dilip Hazam, Subodh Marandi, Md. Azad, Shashika Kachchap, Rusila Kisku and Arun Kisku. Mr. Ranjan Kumar has informed that the campaign will cover more than 3000 migrant laborers with such support materials at Hazaribagh, Chauparan and Dumka in coming days.

02 October 2020, Amrit Nagar: A symposium upon “Mahatma Gandhi: A Great Human” held at NBJK Coordination Office and many social workers, journalists, village women have participated in the program presided by Mr. Swarup Chand Jain (Advocate & Ex-Agitator, JP Movement).

Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK & National Lok Samiti) has introduced the subject and said that GandhiJi used to treat small or big things as equally important and he opposed untouchability, superstition, liquor as well as made Naturopathy, Vegetarianism, Gender Equality, Respect to All Religions, Sarvodaya, Non-violence, Truth, Economic Doctrine of Trusteeship important for a new India. Gandhi didn’t resist English people rather he differed with their rule and added a new dimension to the freedom struggle of India, Mr. Girija Satish pointed out.

Mr. Bateshwar Mehta appealed to be aware with the time and to adopt life values of Mahatma Gandhi. Rural women like Mrs. Pramila Gupta, Mrs. Anju Devi, Mrs. Padma Devi and Mrs. Meena Devi have mentioned the effort by Gandhian organization NBJK to empower Women SHGs towards self-sustainability and institutional support for women suffering from domestic violence. Dr. Vishwanath Azad said that the transformation of Gandhiji to Mahatma was contributed a lot by his wife Kasturba Gandhi. Dr. Zafrullah Sadique viewed mental dissatisfaction as the biggest problem of this age and remembered frugality, truth & non-violence like qualities of Gandhiji.

Mr. Murari Singh has informed about Mahatma Gandhi’s influence as ban upon sacrificial system in Pabra village near Hazaribag while Mr. Umesh Pratap termed violence of thoughts as more dangerous and emphasized on truth with service. Mr. Gautam Sagar Rana has called to replace violent economics of this modern era and insisted to connect economic development with human development. Mr. Krishna Kumar Saha (Officer In-charge, Women Police Station, Hazaribag) mentioned that our public needs proper guidance to control their familial unrest and capable people should support reconciliation instead of legal battle. In his presidential address, Mr. Swarup Chand Jain treated liquor prohibition as a sensitive issue and demanded to the Government for a complete ban upon liquor in Jharkhand and in India.

Also Messrs Prabhu Nath Sharma, Arjun Yadav, Narendra Mahto, Filman Bakhla, Anand Abhinav, Gandharv Gaurav, Nandlal Saw, Rajesh Kumar, Ajay Mishra, Suresh Thakur were present in the event. Before this, Mr. Girija Satish & others have garlanded the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and late Lal Bahadur Shastri (Ex-PM of India) at Kumhartoli, Indrapuri Chowk and Jheel areas of Hazaribagh town.

14 September 2020, Hazaribagh (Jharkhand): Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK & National Lok Samiti) has expressed deep sorrow over passing away of Swami Agnivesh, a well known social activist and a sannyasin of Arya Samaj order.

He said that Swami Agnivesh was associated with Lok Samiti right from the beginning and he has supported our demand of Right to Work in the year 1987. Besides this, very often he used to attend Inter Caste-Inter Religion Marriage conventions. Mr. Girija Satish described him as a progressive person who stood in favour of the deprived people always and opposed superstition vehemently. He remembered Swami Agnivesh in support of ordinary people at Ranchi during 2011 when the Government has started an anti-encroachment campaign and demolished their habitats ruthlessly.

His initiatives for restoration of human rights, release of bonded labours and a way out to naxal problem are unforgettable and we will miss such a different personality very much, Mr. Girija Satish pointed out.

12 September 2020, Jehanabad (Bihar): On the initiative of Mr. Karuna Sagar (IPS) and by courtesy of Mr. Rattesh Gumbar & Mr. Praveen Kumar from #ITAllianceAustralia NBJK has provided Carpentry tools to Mr. Naveen Kumar (DM, Jehanabad) for 20 reverse migrant carpenters affected by COVID caused lockdown. Also the DDC and the SDC of Jehanabad were present on the occasion.

Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK), Mr. Anand Abhinav (Director, NBJK), Mr. Shankar Rana (Program Manager, NBJK) and Mr. Ashwini Kumar have handed over the tools’ kits to the DM for local carpenters. Each kit was comprised of different tools like Jackplane, Stone, Cutter Blade, Drill Bit, Hand Saw, Adze, Batali with Handle, Kachak with Handle, Battam, Jamura, Hammer, Electric Cutter Machine and Electric Drill Machine.

They arranged 20 tool kits for the needy carpenters through the district administration. The Govt. officers have appreciated the move.

09 September 2020, Murhu (Khunti): Under the program of #Mission2020LakhpatiKisanSmartVillage by NBJK with support of Tata Trusts @tatatrusts and CInI @cinicell #MurhuNariShaktiKisanProducerCompanyLimited has started Better Life Farming Center. The company is co-opted by Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society @onlineJSLPS also.

BLFC will provide high quality agriculture inputs & technical services, cultivation training, marketing, price transparency and to boost up farmers’ collective bargaining capacity. The farmers will be offered tips for improved seeds, crops safety, drip irrigation, mulching & other technical information at the center. Also they will be facilitated towards market linkage, access to buyers etc in Murhu and other blocks of the district, Mrs. Dayamani Nag (Chairperson, MNSKPCL) and Mr. Abhijit Mal (CEO, MNSKPCL) have briefed on the occasion.

BLFC has technical assistance from Bayer CropScience while CInI-Tata Trusts-NBJK will help the center financially. 01September 2020, Khunti: Mr. Shashi Ranjan (DC, Khunti), Mr. Hemant Sati (SDO, Khunti), Mr. Pradeep Bhagat (BDO, Murhu), the Circle Officer of Murhu block and other officers have visited Rodo village of Binda panchayat in Murhu block in Khunti district.

They met farmers and observed their works with NBJK’s #Mission2020LakhpatiKisanSmartVillage with support of Tata Trusts @tatatrusts and Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives-CIni @cinicell the officers have participated in the meeting of Gram Sabha and appealed the villagers to take benefits of Govt. schemes.

15 August 2020, Hazaribag: 74th Independence Day of India was celebrated gracefully at the Coordination Office of Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra. Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) has hoisted national flag and after national anthem, he delivered a short speech.

Currently we are passing through a critical time due to the pandemic COVID-19 but this too will end, Mr. Girija expressed his hope and paid rich tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He remembered Gandhiji in context of a self-reliant India and said that development of profitable agriculture, dairy, rural industries can develop our villages and it needs support from all stakeholders. NBJK could develop resources for agriculture as involved with rural development for a long time; he pointed out and mentioned about Buniyadi Shiksha by Gandhiji. This one is skill based instead of only bookish knowledge under present education system. Mr. Girija Satish discussed about direction as well as limitation of science and correlated independence with self-reliance.

On this occasion, Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) said that even after 73 years of our independence, more than 10 lakh people are victim of forced migration in Jharkhand only. This is shameful and our rural areas need employment generation programs immediately, he added. Mr. Satish Girija has reminded about 50 years of NBJK and conveyed his best wishes to all workers. Mr. Prabhunath Sharma (Treasurer, NBJK) called the day as pious one to energize us and he appealed for self-appraisal. Also Mr. Gandharv Gaurav and Mr. Anand Abhinav (both Program Directors, NBJK) have addressed the program.
