18 August 2022, Deoghar-Giridih: NBJK run Vimla Ramakrishna Bajaj Eye Hospital, Deoghar has organized 23 eye screening camps within a fortnight across rural pockets of Jamua, Gandey, Birni & Sadar blocks of Giridih as in Mohanpur block of Deoghar districts.

These camps have ensured total 602 OPD out of which 222 patients found with Refractive Error, 182 with Cataract, 27 with Pterigium and 80 with other eye diseases.

All cataract patients and some others have been referred to base hospital for surgery & proper treatment.

15 August 2022, Chakai-Deoghar: 05 meritorious school children as each from Heth Chakai, Patjori, Chhachhudih, Mamtadih and Garahi villages of Ramchandradih panchayat in Chakai block (district-Jamui, Bihar) have received SBI Ojas scholarship worth Rs. 5000/- as each under NBJK run SBI Gram Seva project with support of SBI Foundation.

Mr. Kishore Mayavan (Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Chakai branch) and Mr. Murlidhar Tiwari (Social Worker, Chakai) handed over the cheques to these children.

At Andhrigadar panchayat in Deoghar Sadar block (district-Deoghar, Jharkhand) also 03 such students from Ramaldih, Gaadi and Sahari villages have been provided the same through the project by Mr. Nanadan Kumar Ray (Mukhiya).

The scholarship distribution ceremony was organized on Independence Day and made it memorable for the people.

15 August 2022, Patna-Gaya-Jamui-Ranchi-Khunti-Dumka-Deoghar-Giridih-Koderma-Hazaribagh: NBJK Branches, Eye Hospitals and Project Offices have celebrated nation’s 76th Independence Day enthusiastically.

At Patna, Ranchi, Khunti branches of the organization as well as Mission Rozgar Training Centers in Giridih-Koderma-Hazaribagh including SBI Gram Seva project offices-Deoghar & Chakai (Jamui), Holistic Rural Development project office-Chanho (Ranchi) and LNJP Eye Hospital-Kajha (Wazirganj, Gaya), LNJP Eye Hospital-Dumka and Vimla Ramakrishna Eye Hospital-Deoghar, this national festival was observed zestfully.

Concerned branch/hospital/project heads have unfurled tricolor flag in presence of the staffs and all recited national anthem to offer highest admiration for the motherland. At Chakai under NBJK run SBI Gram Seva project with support of SBI Foundation, 05 school children have received OJAS scholarship.

15 August 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): NBJK celebrated nation’s 76th Independence Day with full zest. At NBJK co-ordination office, Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) has hoisted national flag and after chorus of ‘Jan Gan Man…” he addressed the staffs.

Mr. Girija Satish termed the day as a hallmark on Indian democracy as it completed 75 years and inspires us to make it stronger. On occasion of this national festival, we must move towards ideal and moral citizenry, he emphasized. Talking about basic concept of democracy, NBJK president referred to strengthening of people by themselves and support from the Government. He said that we all are duty bound at every level from self to family, neighborhood, village, city… and so on with all pervading love as the whole world is a family. He condemned Russo-Ukrainian War and the tendency of imposing dominance over weak by strong. Mr. Girija Satish stated that by inculcating efficiency and discipline among our people, we can achieve new heights despite limited resources. He conveyed best wishes to all on this special day.

Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) has remembered all unknown-known freedom fighters whose invaluable sacrifice enabled us to commemorate the day. Our tricolor national flag represents valour, liberty and peace together that leads to social harmony with prosperity to all. Since last 51 years NBJK has been working ceaselessly in that direction, he mentioned.

Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Director, NBJK) appealed the youths that don’t let the pre-independence situation come back and to counter divisive forces.

Also Mrs. Meera Gupta, Mrs. Maya Mishra, Mr. Sudhir Upadhyay and Mr. Pravesh Singh have expressed their views. Mr. Rajeev Singh anchored the event.

13 August 2022, Giridih: On juncture of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav e. g. 75th Anniversary of Independence, Tiranga Painting Competition held at NBJK run Mission Rozgar Training Center-Giridih, supported under Young India project by UTI Mutual Fund. The event was sponsored by Akhil Bhartiya Sarva Vaishya Ekta Mahasabha.

Mrs. Ragini Lahri Saha (State Chairperson, ABSVEM) and Mrs. Poonam Gupta have graced the occasion as chief & distinguished guest respectively while Mrs. Renu Seth (District Head, ABSVEM) has presided the affair. Mrs. Saha said as entire nation is expected to celebrate 75th anniversary of independence, we aim to encourage our youths to observe this pious time with enthusiasm and awareness.

In presence of MRTC faculty team, Ms. Rumana Azmat (Center Coordinator) welcomed all and Mr. Vishal Verma (Faculty Member) anchored the proceeding. The trainees have participated in this painting competition with full zest, won prizes and received their certificates from the guests.

13 August 2022, Tatijhariya (Hazaribagh): As a joint effort of NBJK, Sightsavers & JSLPS under Inclusive Rural Eye Health program, a Social Security Support-cum-Eye Screening Camp held at Tatijhariya Panchayat Bhawan.

This ensured 61 OPD, 10 persons have been identified with Cataract and will get free surgery at NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh). 18 patients of Refractive Error got consultation for glasses while others were prescribed medicines for their eye problems.

Besides this, guidance for online application was provided to the Persons with Disabilities those lack Disability Certificate, Ayushman Card, E-Shram Card, Pension, Insurance etc. Also a discussion upon RPD Act 2016 and formation of DSHGs through JSLPS took place with PwDs.

11 August 2022, Nagri (Churchu, Hazaribagh): NBJK run Roshni Dhruv High School’s girl children have tied Rakhi on the wrists of police personnel. They went to nearby Churchu police station as well as CRPF camp and performed the rituals.

This was a symbolic gesture to acknowledge the service of our security forces on duty at distant places amid tough condition without their families. It’s worth mentioning that Churchu block of Hazaribagh district is a naxal-prone area and they play important role to maintain law & order here.

Mr. Indradev Rajwar (Officer In-charge, Churchu PS) and Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh (DSP, CRPF) have greeted their small sisters. The officers & personnel have accepted the Rakhis with sweets and blessed the children.

10 August 2022, Khunti: Murhu Nari Shakti Kisan Producer Co. Ltd., an FPO promoted by CInI-Tata Trusts & NBJK has received a cash credit loan of Rs. 20 lakh from Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank under JOHAR project of Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (Govt. of Jharkhand). The company will utilize the amount to grow its input & output business of agriculture, lac, animal husbandry etc.

Mr. Nitish Kumar Singh, DDC-Khunti handed over the loan to board members of MNSKPCL, assured for betterment of the women associated with this organization and his visit to its work areas too.

Many dignitaries like the Regional & Branch Managers of JRGB, Mr. Ranjit Gupta (SPC, JOHAR-Agri Finance), Mr. Shailesh Ranjan (DPM-Khunti, JSLPS), Mr. Pankaj Kumar (RPO, JOHAR), Mr. Rajesh Prasad (DPO-JOHAR), Mr. Pravin Kumar (CEO- MNSKPCL), Mrs. Alma Tidu, Mrs. Savitri Devi, Mrs. Mithila Devi (All Directors, MNSKPCL) and Mr. Mohit Purti (Manager, NBJK-Khunti) were present on this occasion.

MNSKPCL was established under Lakhpati Kisan project by NBJK with support of CInI-Tata Trusts and got registration in the year 2018. Currently it is working across 100 villages of Murhu block in Khunti district with more than 3000 shareholders and has a turnover of Rs. 7.5 crore.

09-10 August 2022, Hazaribagh-Ranchi: Dr. Anil Patil, Founder & ED of Carers Worldwide, U. K. has visited NBJK and met Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK), “Caring of Carers” project team and family carers in villages.

It’s noteworthy that with support of Carers Worldwide, NBJK implements the project upon well-being of carers those look after their differently abled, old aged or chronic ill family members. It formed 90 SHGs of about 1200 family carers in 6 blocks of Hazaribagh district and these groups’ collective saving was nearly Rs. 50 lakh which they utilized rationally during Covid time. Besides this, the project has linked more than 300 carers with livelihood activities successfully.

Also Dr. Patil called on the members of Pragati Carers Seva Sansthan, an organization at Hazaribagh promoted by Carers Worlwide & NBJK in favour of carers.

Dr. Anil Patil’s next stopover was at NBJK-Ranchi, where he joined a meeting with representatives of some like-minded organizations to make a network for pro-carers advocacy. It was decided that soon a state level convention of Carers & concerned VOs will be organized and followed by a national meet to influence policy makers.

10 August 2022, Hazaribagh: Rural Eye Health program by NBJK with support of Sightsavers has provided Eye Health Checkup Equipments like Retinoscope, Ophthalmoscope, Trial lens set, Lensometer, Color vision book, Distance vision drum to the state govt. conducted Community Health Centers of Barkagaon, Barhi, Ichak, Katkamsandi, Bishnugarh, Churchu blocks as well as Primary Health Centers of Dadi & Chalkusha blocks.

Dr. Saryu Pd. Singh (Civil Surgeon) handed over the instruments to concerned officers and directed them to refer patients of Cataract & other eye diseases to Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital or NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh) immediately for their proper treatment.

Dr. Kapil (DRCHO), Mr. Ravishankar (DPM, Sadar), Medical Officers of Barkagaon-Ichak, BPMs of Churchu-Chouparan-Chalkusha-Barkagaon-Dadi, Dr. Jitendra Kumar (SPO, Sightsavers), Mr. Kirti Rawat (DPM, Sightsavers) and Ophthalmic Assistants from Ichak-Bishnugarh-Katkamsandi-Barhi CHCs were present on the occasion.
