04 March 2024, Deoghar: NBJK run Vimla Ramkrishna Bajaj Eye Hospital, Deoghar is serving as the fourth unit of LNJP Eye Hospital group run by NBJK. It’s located at Deoghar City with coverage area of 05 districts like Deoghar, Giridih, Jamui, Lakhisarai and Banka in Jharkhand & Bihar.

VRBEH has 30 beds, up to date devices, experienced ophthalmologists, qualified medical team, spacious premises, high-class management and all amenities for patients & their attendants.

Within a year, it has conducted 10717 OPD and performed 3211 Cataract Surgery, out of which about 90% was free. It organized 156 outreach eye screening camps at far-flung villages, ensured vision checkup for 4657 people not having any eye care service and reached to weaker section of society. At outreach camps, medical teams identify Cataract patients and arrange their transportation, food, surgery, medicines, black glasses etc at the base hospital. Also they bring them back to their places after vision restoration and provide post-surgery follow up services.

During a specific eye screening drive launched for school children of Deoghar City, VRBEH has found that about 25 to 30 percent children are suffering from Refractive Errors and issued an advisory for parents. Likewise it took initiative of eye examination service to the children of local Blind School-cum-Orphanage, found 04 children with restorable vision and offered its service.

The eye hospital has installed an OCT Machine to diagnose internal eye screen, retina, angiography, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy etc very easily with perfection to make treatment successful.

Also VRBEH provides orientation training to ASHAs and Anganwadi workers for mass awareness on eye health in villages and runs four well-equipped Vision Centers at Bengabad, Giridih, Jhajha and Jasidih to expand its reach to rural population and to provide them quality eye healthcare services.

17 February 2024, Hazaribagh: Mission Rozgar Training Center, Hazaribagh, supported by SBI Life and run by NBJK, hosted an Employers’ Meet today!

Our talented trainees participated, showcasing their skills in Basic Computer Applications, General Duty Attendant, Beautician-Mehandi-Bridal Makeup & Tailoring-Embroidery. Representatives from leading employers like Care Children Hospital, Hexier Enterprises, Poorna Medico, Maihar Mart, Bright Beauty Parlour & more joined in! They discussed job opportunities, workplace dynamics, and solutions to industry challenges.

Mr. Rupesh Mallick, MRTC Manager, extended a warm welcome, highlighting our CSR-backed project. The event wrapped up with gratitude expressed by Mr. Mrityunjay Jha, Placement Officer.

16 February 2024, Chouparan (Hazaribagh): Join us in celebrating the incredible success of NBJK run Chandrakala Devi Daga High School in Kewalia village (Chouparan, Hazaribagh), Jharkhand! Thanks to the support from the local community, organizations like Mission Every Girl in School, GiveIndia, and generous online donors, CDDHS is transforming lives.

With classes from VI to X, CDDHS provides quality education to 342 children, including 217 girls. ALL girl students receive full sponsorship for their education, while 15 boys from impoverished families receive scholarships.

The results speak volumes: in last board exams, CDDHS students excelled! Class VIII: 45 out of 50 students scored Grade A+. Class IX: 54 students achieved Grade A+ & A. And in Class X board exams, 111 out of 118 students passed with first division, with 72 being girls!

15 February 2024, Khunti: With the unwavering support of CInI-Tata Trusts, NBJK’s Lakhpati Kisan Smart Village program is transforming lives across 32 villages in Murhu and Khunti blocks of Khunti district.

Dedicated to empowering farmers, this initiative focuses on High Value Agriculture (HVA), irrigation, and agro-plus activities, ensuring quality lives for over 7000 farmers.

Through community institutions like SHGs and farmers’ clusters, the apex body Murhu Nari Shakti Kisan Producer Co. Ltd. (MNSKPCL) has achieved phenomenal success with an annual turnover of Rs. 03 crore 13 lakh.

Diversified livelihood activities, including Lac Cultivation and animal husbandry, have significantly boosted income for 4849 households. Improved irrigation facilities now benefit 2635 households, ensuring sustainable agricultural practices.

With enhanced animal husbandry practices and strengthened market linkages, more households are experiencing increased incomes. The program’s impact on farming is evident, with significant engagement in paddy cultivation and HVA across seasons.

Honored by the Khunti District Administration, MNSKPCL’s exceptional work in HVA, Minor Forest Produce, and Livestock Development is a testament to its impactful contributions.

14 February 2024, New Delhi: We’re delighted to mention our journey in rejuvenating 49 water bodies across Giridih district, making a significant impact on community livelihoods. At the recent workshop in New Delhi, organized by NITI Aayog – ATE Chandra Foundation, NBJK stood tall as a crucial stakeholder.

Represented by Mr. Rajeev Kumar Singh, our Senior Program Manager, we shed light on our desiltation process, transforming ponds and utilizing silt as organic fertilizer. Today, these once-depleted ponds are brimming with water, fostering bumper crops and sustainable farming practices. We are thankful to the district administration for their collaboration and proactive safety measures, ensuring the well-being of our communities.

We’ve urged NITI Aayog and ATE Chandra Foundation to expand this initiative across Jharkhand, emphasizing its potential to enhance soil quality, support multiple cropping seasons, and curb youth migration.

13 February 2024, Hazaribagh: We’re thrilled to share that with the support of SIDBI, NBJK has kickstarted an Entrepreneurship Development Program aimed at fostering successful & sustainable micro-enterprises in Jharkhand!

Over the next few years, we aim to empower artisans, SHG members, entrepreneurs, and youths across five districts – Hazaribagh, Giridih, Ramgarh, Khunti, and West Singhbhum. Our goal is to create 1100 entrepreneurship units, providing a platform for innovation and economic growth.

Under this initiative, we’re not only focusing on launching new ventures but also strengthening existing ones facing challenges like capital shortage or skill gaps. Through loans, subsidies, and tailored support, we’re making entrepreneurship accessible to all, including marginalized individuals.

In just six months, we’ve already assisted 80 micro-enterprises, with a significant portion led by inspiring women entrepreneurs! From furniture to beauty parlors, our entrepreneurs are making waves in diverse sectors, driving local development and reducing migration.

12 February 2024, Kajha (Gaya): Located just 19 km from Gaya on the Gaya-Nawada highway, LNJPEH Kajha, the third unit of the NBJK-run Loknayak JayPrakash Eye Hospital family, is making waves in eye care accessibility.

With 80 beds and top-notch facilities, including advanced equipment and a dedicated medical team, we’re proud to serve 45 blocks across Gaya, Nawada, and Jehanabad districts. In just a year, we’ve conducted 19,443 OPD consultations, prioritizing women and children, and performed 8,767 cataract surgeries, with 7,567 of them provided free of charge.

But our impact doesn’t stop there! We’ve organized 400 outreach camps, reaching remote villages and providing care to 23,194 patients. Plus, our three Vision Centers ensure even those in the most distant areas receive essential eye care.

10 February 2024, Hazaribagh: NBJK runs the program of Poverty Reduction through Self-Help Groups on self-sustainable mode. It’s a pioneering social intervention by NBJK since the year 1991 with a rich work experience of organizing women, which touches a wider concern of their socio-economic development. It covers 12 blocks in Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Khunti districts of Jharkhand and 15 Slum areas of Patna in Bihar.

The program organizes women as their Self-Help Groups and men under Joint Liability Groups.  The group members belong to same localities. They elect groups’ office bearers and those are responsible to run their SHGs or JLGs efficiently. These SHGs & JLGs hold regular meetings, ensure groups’ internal saving and the members support each other to promote their livelihood activities.

The program offers micro credit support service at doorstep of the groups and monitors their minor businesses or income generation activities. Currently there are 953 SHGs with 21102 members and micro credit has been provided to 5277 members of 588 SHGs. Likewise the number of total borrower JLGs is 384 and their 1209 male members have availed the micro finance support.

It’s cumulative recovery rate is around 93.37% despite two consequent business years halted by COVID pandemic. It provides direct support to bread-winners of 6486 families and contributes to women’s empowerment at large scale.

Covering 20 villages in Bodhgaya and Gaya Sadar blocks of Gaya district, Bihar, our mobile clinic van brings essential healthcare services to the doorstep of around 50,000 inhabitants. From on-the-spot checkups to providing crucial medicines, we’re dedicated to ensuring almost free quality primary healthcare reaches those who need it most.

In just a year, we’ve organized 1056 camps, offering successful treatment to 9434 patients, addressing a range of ailments including fever, diabetes, anemia, and gynecological disorders.

But our efforts don’t stop there! We’re also driving awareness and sanitation initiatives under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, distributing sanitary pads, and providing vital counseling on menstrual health & hygiene to adolescent girls & women.

08 February 2024, Chouparan (Hazaribagh): NBJK run Amoli Apurva High School, Mangarh (Chouparan, Hazaribagh), proudly commemorated its 28th Foundation Day on February 6th, 2024!

The day began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, led by Mr. Arjun Pandey (local Mukhiya & President of the School Management Committee) and Mr. Dayanand Singh (Principal, AAHS).

Students showcased a vibrant array of cultural activities, including mesmerizing dances, gripping dramas, and soulful music. Special mention to our talented girl students – Suman, Simran, Khushee, Sakshi, Jyoti, Anisha, Nandini, Soniya, Kajal, and others – whose group dance drama left everyone in awe!

Mr. Arjun Pandey, the esteemed chief guest, reminisced about the school’s humble beginnings and its unwavering commitment to providing quality education, particularly emphasizing its role in empowering girls despite numerous challenges. He lauded the dedicated teachers for their pivotal role in shaping the future of countless students, enabling them to pursue higher education and secure promising careers.
