28 May 2026, Deoghar: NBJK-run Vimla Ramkrishna Bajaj Eye Hospital (VRBEH), Deoghar, has successfully organized seven Outreach Screening Camps in the remote villages of Sono, Khaira, and Chandan blocks of Jamui and Banka districts in Bihar till May 28, 2026. These border districts, adjoining Deoghar, often face limited access to quality eye care services, and VRBEH has emerged as a major support for the people residing in these underserved areas.

Out of the seven camps conducted, four camps were organized in Sono block, one in Khaira block, and two in Chandan block. Through these camps, a total of 345 patients received eye screening and consultation services, including 153 females and 192 males.

During the screenings, 102 patients were identified with cataract, 152 with refractive error, and 8 with pterygium. In addition, 77 persons were provided with necessary medicines, while 11 patients requiring specialized care were referred to the base hospital for advanced treatment.

All identified cataract patients will receive free cataract surgery along with transportation, food, medicines, and post-operative care support under the CSR initiative of VIP through Rashtriya Netra Yagna, a project of Vision Foundation of India.

The outreach initiative reflects the continued commitment of VRBEH and NBJK towards ensuring accessible and affordable eye care services for rural and marginalized communities.
