16 May 2026, Hazaribagh: Schools run by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) in Chouparan block of Hazaribagh district have successfully provided 7,226 breakfasts and an equal number of lunches to school children during the period from 01 to 15 May 2026. This nutrition support programme is being implemented with support from Feeding India, a Zomato Giveback initiative.
Under the programme, nutritious breakfasts consisting of sprouted gram or green gram with milk are being served to the students, while lunch includes rice, pulses, and vegetables.
Among the participating schools, Amoli Apurva High School, Maangarh served 5,914 meals, followed by Amoli Apurva Middle School, Bahera with 3,620 meals, Amoli Apurva Middle School, Prajapat Nagar with 2,942 meals, and Chandrakala Devi Daga High School with 1,976 meals.
The programme has shown very encouraging results in terms of improved attendance, better health, and enhanced classroom participation of the children. It has also reduced the burden on parents, especially mothers, who earlier had to arrange mid-day meals from home for their children.
NBJK expressed gratitude to Feeding India for supporting this important initiative aimed at promoting nutrition, health, and education among rural children.
