Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School Wins District Gatka Championship

13 May 2026, Hazaribagh: Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School, Bahera Ashram (Chouparan, Hazaribagh) achieved remarkable success at the 3rd Hazaribagh Sub-Junior, Junior & Senior Gatka Championship held at JMM Public School, Padma.

Around 60 students from the school participated in the inter-school district-level competition and delivered an outstanding performance by winning 16 gold, 15 silver and 13 bronze medals. Based on the overall medal tally, the school secured the Winner Trophy and emerged as Overall Champion.

Students including Aryan Kumar, Adarsh Kumar, Ananya Rituraj, Suhani Kumari, Palak Kumari, Riddhi Kumari and Mayuri Sinha also performed referee duties successfully and were honoured with the “Best Referee” award at the Jharkhand level for their excellent officiating.

Sports teachers Rakesh Ranjan and Ashutosh Kumar played an important role in training the students and ensuring the success of the event. School Principal and Gatka President Reena Pandey congratulated the winners and expressed confidence that the students would continue to excel at state and national levels in future.
