04 May 2026, Deoghar: Vimla Ramkrishna Bajaj Eye Hospital (VRBEH), Deoghar, run by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK), continues to expand access to quality eye care services in underserved rural areas of Bihar and Jharkhand.
During the period from 18 to 29 April 2026, the hospital organized six eye screening camps in remote villages across Chandan, Mohanpur, Chakai and Jamua blocks, covering Banka, Deoghar, Jamui and Giridih districts. These camps facilitated the examination of 134 patients, leading to the identification of 56 cases of refractive error, 38 cataract cases, and 1 case of pterygium. Medicines were provided to 21 patients, while 13 individuals were referred to the base hospital for advanced treatment.
In addition, VRBEH’s Vision Centre at Jamua (Giridih) extended services to 80 villagers over seven working days. The centre detected 49 cases of refractive error, 14 cataract cases, and 2 cases of pterygium, ensuring timely diagnosis and care at the community level.
Through its regular outreach camps and a network of Vision Centres located at Jasidih, Jhajha, and Jamua, the hospital is effectively bringing affordable and accessible eye care services closer to rural populations, reducing preventable vision impairment and blindness.
NBJK remains committed to strengthening community health systems and improving the quality of life for marginalized populations through sustained healthcare interventions.
