09 September 2025, Jharkhand-Bihar: Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) has empowered thousands of rural families through its socio-economic and livelihood development initiatives. By combining sustainable agriculture, youth skill development, and women’s empowerment, NBJK is fostering long-term self-reliance across villages.
During the year, 15,300 farmer households in 199 villages benefited from irrigation support, including the renovation of ponds and wells, installation of 141 solar lift irrigation units, and plantation of 28,130 saplings. These interventions have boosted productivity while promoting environmental sustainability.
To address rural unemployment, 649 youths received skill training, of which 448 secured jobs or became self-employed. NBJK also supported 264 micro-enterprises—184 led by women—and created 233 extra employment opportunities.
Women’s empowerment was strengthened further as 193 rural women were trained in tailoring, 83 received sewing machines, and over 6,000 people accessed microcredit to start or expand small businesses.
Through these integrated efforts, NBJK is building a stronger foundation for rural prosperity, ensuring that farmers, women, and youth can lead dignified and sustainable lives.
