18 january 2025, Hazaribagh: Today, a one-day orientation and training program was organized for the teachers of remedial coaching centers run under the Girls’ Education Project operated by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) with the support of Action Village India. This event was held at NBJK Coordination Office, Amrit Nagar. These coaching centers provide tuition in relatively challenging subjects like Mathematics, Science, and English to schoolgirls in classes 8, 9, and 10.

The teachers of these centers are quite experienced, and during this orientation-cum-training program, they had a detailed discussion on teaching methodologies for the upcoming board examinations. The teachers formulated strategies to address complex and tricky questions in their respective subjects, aiming to ensure even academically weaker students benefit and improve.

During the session, Mr. Rajeev Singh, Senior Program Manager of NBJK, emphasized that with limited time left for the Class 10 board exams, the teachers at these remedial coaching centers need to put in extra effort to ensure the girls achieve good results.

Out of the 13 teachers teaching in the coaching centers operating across 13 villages in Sadar, Katkamsandi, and Katkamdag blocks, 11 participated in the program.

Mr. Abhay Kumar, the Regional Supervisor coordinating the event, shared that teacher-parent meetings were recently conducted at these remedial coaching centers. These meetings provided insights into the academic challenges faced by the girls, feedback from both parents and teachers, and an opportunity to encourage parents to give their daughters ample time for exam preparation. Parents were also urged to eliminate gender bias, provide opportunities for education, and strictly oppose child marriage.
