22 March 2024, Chakai-Deoghar: In the heartlands of Chakai (Jamui, Bihar) and Deoghar Sadar blocks (Deoghar, Jharkhand), communities are coming together under the SBI Gram Saksham project by SBI Foundation-NBJK to mark World Water Day in a truly inspiring manner!
At Guriyadih village, the echoes of joy resound as villagers recount their journey with the project. Thanks to initiatives like motor pump distribution and well & pond renovation, cultivation has become a breeze for farmers like Mr. Niranjan Yadav and Mr. Bhubaneshwar Yadav. What was once a struggle with water scarcity and expensive irrigation has now transformed into abundant harvests of Rabi, Kharif, and Zaid crops. With the support of Mr. S. K. Yazal, Senior Project Manager, the community pledges to conserve this newfound resource fervently.
Meanwhile, over at Simradih village, discussions on rainwater conservation reverberate through the air. With approximately 60 enthusiastic participants, including men, women, and school students, the emphasis is on the importance of renovating ponds & wells. Mr. Shahab Ansari, Project Manager, shares invaluable tips with farmers, emphasizing techniques like land ridging and rainwater harvesting. Embracing the theme of “Water for Peace,” the community commits to safeguarding this precious resource for a sustainable future.
Let’s join hands in celebrating these remarkable efforts towards water conservation and pledge to make every drop count! #WorldWaterDay #Sustainability #WaterConservation #CommunityImpact
