13 March 2024, Chanho (Ranchi): In an effort to promote sustainable farming practices and conserve water, a Demand Generation workshop for farmers was recently held in Chanho (Ranchi) under the HDFC Bank supported Focus Rural Development Program by NBJK.

The event, inaugurated by Dr. Parmeshwar Bhagat, emphasized the crucial role of water in agriculture and rural life. Mr. Ashutosh Tiwari (Member, Zila Parishad) highlighted the importance of adopting new farming methods for water conservation and income enhancement.

Activities such as seed distribution, solar light installation, and construction of small check dams by NBJK in 15 villages of Chanho block were briefed by Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK). Prof. Nafasat Ali underscored the indispensability of water for rural economies.

Village Development Committees, along with individuals like Mrs. Rita Khakho and Mrs. Anita Bindi Munda, presented their initiatives and micro-plans for sustainable development.

Mr. Priyanshu Kumar encouraged farmers to join Farmer Producer Groups for mutual benefits, while Mr. Sunil Kumar Gupta highlighted the progress of the project and its convergence with government schemes.

As a token of support, 29 farmers received sprayer machines from the district agriculture department.

Gratitude was extended by Mr. Ramchandra Munda, President of VDC, to all participants and contributors for making the workshop a success.
