13 January 2024, Chanho (Ranchi): In a stride towards sustainable rural development, villagers in Chanho block of Ranchi district convened under the Parivartan-Holistic Rural Development Program by NBJK with support from HDFC Bank. A pivotal mass awareness meeting on January 10, 2024, at Hara Jatra Bageecha saw Village Development Committees from seven villages unites under the Focus Rural Development initiative.

Mr. Sunil Kumar Gupta (APC-HRDP) highlighted the pressing need to address water scarcity for agriculture. He outlined collaborative measures like Bora Bandh, Bund, Trench, Soak pit, Roof Water Harvesting, and Pond Renovation. Mr. Arvind Kumar (State Coordinator, Goonj), the esteemed chief guest, pledged support for materials if villagers voluntarily undertake these initiatives.

Micro initiatives for water conservation were championed by Mrs. Rekha Sanga (Mukhiya, Choreya Panchayat), emphasizing cost-effectiveness and collective benefits for farmers. Mrs. Poonam Orayin (Mukhiya, Taranga Panchayat) stressed shared responsibility, and Mr. Janak Singh (Block Technical Officer, Chanho) promised government scheme benefits for farmers.

Village Development Committee roles were elucidated by Mr. Priyanshu Kumar (APM-HRDP). Over 150 VDC members participated, with key contributions from NBJK staff, ensuring the event’s success.
