08 January 2024, Hazaribagh: Under the Girls Education Program run by Action Village India-Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra, a five-day capacity building training workshop for project staffs covering the topics like Gender Equality, Life Skills and Career Counseling for school girls ended on 06 January 2024 at NBJK Coordination Office, Amrit Nagar.
In this workshop, Master Trainer Mrs. Nashmi Jamal and her team taught the participants about gender-based discrimination-violence, prevention of child marriage, physical-mental changes occurring during adolescence, health-hygiene, behavior change, leadership development, etc. in context of school girls. The trainers have provided detailed information about how to orient the girls about their academic future plan, career, stress management, expression of thoughts etc. They also suggested improving the thinking of parents so that girls get a friendly environment in their home, they can share their problems and many untoward incidents can be avoided.
Total 14 participants including 12 women staffs from Gram Nirman Kendra (Wazirganj, Gaya), Lok Shakti Shikshan Kendra (Pariaya, Gaya), Lok Prerna Kendra (Simaria, Chatra), Vikas Foundation (Jarmundi, Dumka), Stri Shakti (Hazaribagh) and NBJK have joined this training workshop.
Program Manager Mr. Rajeev Singh, who was coordinating the training workshop, said that with the support of AVI, NBJK & partner organizations serve more than 1100 girls in rural areas of Jharkhand-Bihar by providing them school education through sponsorship and remedial coaching centers.
