SPBPS Student Selected for Gatka Game at National Level

17 December 2022, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh): The students of NBJK run Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh) are performing well with sports.

Navneet Kumar of class 9th has been selected as a participant for national competition to be held at Chandigarh soon.

Ms. Reena Pandey (Principal, SPBPS) informed that our 35 students have took part in the state level Gatka game competition organized for boys & girls groups on 11 & 12 December at Royal Orchid International School, Barhi (Hazaribagh).

Among girls, Riya Pandey & Priya Kumari won Gold; Neha Kumari & Priyanka Kumari bagged Silver while Shambhawi, Varsha, Shivani, Srishti, Princy, Gulnaz, Sakshi, Pragati, Muskan, Sugandhi, Nisha and Priya got Bronze medals. In boys group, Navneet won Gold medal and he was selected for national level.

We are very much proud for the achievements of our students, the principal says.

It’s significant that Gatka is a traditional martial art form associated with the Sikh gurus. It imbibes sword and sticks fighting skills and self-control.
