Executive Committee Meeting of Bihar State Lok Samiti, Passes Resolutions

28 September 2022, Kadamkuan (Patna): Bihar State Lok Samiti has called its executive committee meeting at the state office near Congress Maidan, Kadamkuan, Patna. Mr. Jagarnath Singh (President, BSLS) presided the meeting and Mr. Girija Satish (National President, LS) was keynote speaker.

Mr. Girija Satish said about promotion of cottage or small scale industries to counter unemployment, supported liquor prohibitory law by the state government and asked for proper execution of the law revised with some relaxations recently. We need to eradicate superstition and to adopt scientific approach in our lives to make India a developed nation, he pointed out.

Earlier Mr. Kaushal Ganesh Azad (National Coordinator, Lok Samiti) welcomed all and introduced the discussion over state of affairs. Mr. Shivji Singh (General Secretary, BSLS) conducted the meeting and the members have passed some resolutions.

The resolutions are  – (i) Since Bihar is passing through a tough phase of flood & drought, the state govt. must provide free electricity to farmers and they should be exempted from all taxes, revenue etc. (ii) The state govt. must ensure irrigation facility for farmers through bore-wells, by getting silt cleared from rivers & canals and revamp Mandi system under APMC. (iii) To fix the crumbling education system, the govt. should appoint subject wise teachers and provide lab as well as library at schools. (iv) Lok Samiti strongly condemns the government’s pardon for the accused in the Bilkis Bano case and demands reinstatement of sentence by re-arresting the accused. (v) Lok Samiti believes that war is not the solution to any problem. The Russo-Ukraine War is the result of expansionist policy. Lok Samiti demands to stop the war immediately.

Mr. J. P. Singh & Mr. Anokhe Lal Yadav from Uttar Pradesh Lok Samiti have joined the meeting as special invitees while important members of BSLS like Mr. Nagendra Sinha (State Secretary), Mr. Vinod Sharma (National Treasurer), Mrs. Kranti Rashosh (Mahila LS), Mr. Ashutosh Kumar, Mr. Naushad Khan, Mr. Umashankar Singh, Mr. Rishikesh Kumar, Mr. Gautam Mallah, Mr. Rahul Mishra, Prof. Viod Kr. Singh, Mr. Alok Kr., Mr. Vinod Ranjan, Mrs. Meena Devi, Mr. Rajendra Manjhi, Mrs. Raju Ranjana, Mr. Upendra Singh, Mr. Ajay Srivastava, Mr. Chhotelal Sharma, Mr. Sawaliya Giri, Mr. Dheeraj Kumar and many others have participated in the meeting.
