22 August 2022, Medhkuri & Barkattha (Hazaribagh): Under the joint aegis of NBJK, Sightsavers and JSLPS, Eye Checkup-cum-Social Security Facility camps were organized for the differently-abled and old people at Medkuri Panchayat Bhawan in Daru Block and Community Health Center in Barkatha Block as the activity of Inclusive Rural Eye Health Program.

At Medkuri, a total of 56 patients, including the differently-abled, underwent eye screening. After test, cataract was found in the eyes of 5 people and 11 people suffering from refractive error were given medical consultation regarding spectacles. Whereas the total number of OPDs at Barkatha was 59, in which 14 patients of cataract and 15 patients of refraction were found. Patients suffering from other eye problems received appropriate medical advice.

In the social security facility camps organized at both the places, the needy differently-abled & old people got guidance related to online application for getting disability certificate, Ayushman card, e-shram card, pension, insurance etc. The Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2016 Act was discussed and they got tips over formation of DSHGs with help of JSLPS.

Optometrists Akash Kumar, Ranjit Kumar from NBJK, Kirti Rawat, Ranjit Singh, Nidhi Kshetri, Deepak Sharma, Vikas Singh of Sightsavers, Omprakash, Kiran Devi of JSLPS along with Lalita Kumari, Jitendra Kumar and Rahul from Divya Jyoti have contributed to the camps.
