05 July 2022, Sitab Diara (Saran), Bihar: Lok Samiti’s national convention held at Sitab Diara village, the native place of Loknayak Jay Prakash on 30th June 2022, the 45th foundation day of Lok Samiti.
The function was organized in auditorium of JP memorial building and participated by about 150 delegates from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. Mr. Girija Satish (National President, Lok Samiti) hoisted LS flag, led mass recital of national anthem and all offered flowers-garlands to the statues of JP & Prabhawati Jee.
After lighting the lamp, LS national president has inaugurated the convention and honored senior members of Lok Samiti like Mr. Vidabhushan (former MLA) & Mr. Parmeshwar Prasad (Social Worker) with robes.
In his address, Mr. Girija Satish has briefed about Lok Samiti, a non-political organization initiated by JP on Gandhian principles to check & balance power equation dominated by bureaucracy, politicians & brokers, in favor of common people. He said that Gandhiji was a staunch opponent of alcohol but our Governments promote liquor to earn revenue which is immoral and anti development. This causes bad effect upon women & youths, breaks our family structure but political parties ignore prohibition in their election manifesto and this is a matter of serious concern, he mentioned. Mr. Girija Satish went on that Lok Samiti believes in peace-harmony and wants to eradicate casteism, communalism, dowry etc as these are dangerous for national unity.
During the convention, Mr. Kaushal Ganesh Azad (National Coordinator, LS) tabled three resolutions about Liquor Prohibition, Communal Harmony and Decentralization and these were passed unanimously.
Also Mr. Vidyabhushan, Mr. Ajay Shrivastava, Mr. Krishna Kumar, Dr. J. P. Singh, Mr. Alok Singh, Mrs. Kranti Rashosh, Mrs. Vindu Singh, Mrs. Manti Verma, Mr. Shriram Yadav, Mr. Rajendra Manjhi, Mr. Mahanth Tiwary, Mr. Parmeshwar Prasad, Mrs. Raju Ranjana and many others have expressed their views.
Mr. Shivji Singh (General Secretary, Bihar State Lok Samiti) has conducted the stage while Mr. Sawaliya Giri proposed vote of thanks.
