16-18 November 2021, Ranchi: UNICEF Jharkhand has organized 3-days training to the Counselors from Family Counseling Centers/FCCs running by NGOs in 21 districts of Jharkhand with support of Central Social Welfare Board-Delhi & Jharkhand State Social Welfare Board-Ranchi.
The training’s objective was capacity building of Counselors and this has been provided through Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan-Ranchi @blks.co.in. NBJK too runs an FCC at Hazaribag and sent Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Counselor) to attend the program.
On first day the participants got details about topics like Observation of Violence, Power & Control Cycle, Vulnerable/Risk Groups, Frequent Reactions after Violence, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Impact upon Children, Support & Resources, Screening Skills, and Causes with Redressal. Next day after recap, they came to know about Psychological First Aid, Case Study & others. Last day of the training was dedicated to the issues like Basic Counseling Skill, Role & Responsilbility, Psychosocial Support, Referal Service, Reporting, Contact, Demonstration and Activities important for Counselors.
Mses. Madhumita Bhattacharya, Prakriti Sinha, Liza T. Denil, Mr. M. M. Verghese and Mr. Narendra Singh have contributed to the event as resource parsons. Ms. Preeti Shrivastava (UNICEF Jharkhand) and the trainers have distributed prize items among the trainees in closing ceremony.
