11-16 September 2021, Khunti-Bandgaon-Palkot: Tailoring training to future teachers of Satellite Silai Schools has been organized under NBJK run #UshaSilaiSchool program with support of Usha International-Delhi. Its objective was to provide skill development opportunity to 60 tribal women from Khunti, West Singhbhum and Gumla districts.
The training held at NBJK-Khunti branch office on 11-12 September, at Catholic Church-Bandgaon (West Singhbhum) on 13-14 September and at Mahila Vikas Samiti, Baghima (Palkot, Gumla) on 15-16 September 2021. This was 2-days residential training for 20 participants at each place and they learnt about cutting & stitching of pant-shirt, skirt, blouse, mask etc.
At Khunti, Mr. Mohit Purti (Branch Manager, NBJK-Khunti) and Mr. Manohar Tuti (Staff, NBJK-Khunti) have supported the event while Ms Paulina Tuti and Mrs. Asmati Devi helped at Bandgaon & Palkot respectively. As resource persons Mrs. Pammi Devi and Mrs. Renu Devi imparted their expertise with learners at all the three places.
After completion of their training, the trainees have received certificate, tailoring guidebook and signage board to initiate their own sewing schools. Mr. Shailesh Kumar (NBJK-Hazaribag) and Mr. Felix Tirkey (Usha International) played key role in organizing team and monitored the arrangement.
