Inauguration of #VisionCentre at Barkattha CHC

27 July 2021, Barkattha (Hazaribag): Today a Vision Center started at Community Health Centre, Barkattha under Netra Vasant-Rural Eye Health Program by Sightsavers India @SightsaversIndia @SightsaversIn, NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Bahera (Chauparan, Hazaribag) and Sadar Hospital, Hazaribag.

This was inaugurated by Mr. Shrikant Manjhi (CO, Barkattha), Mr. Basant Saw (Mukhiya, North Barkattha Panchayat), Dr. Rajnikant (MO, CHC), Mr. Gopal Saw (Mukhiya, Barkattha) and Mr. Mithilesh Bharti (Social Worker) jointly. On this occasion, Mr. Shrikant Manjhi has appreciated concerned organizations for opening of the Vision Center in this remote backward area. Dr. Rajnikant stated that very often we don’t understand about gravity of our eye problems but proper checkup at this Vision Center can ensure towards precise treatment. Mr. Basant Saw said that the facility for dealing with eye diseases is a major necessity of this area and the Vision Center will address people’s requirement from Chalkusha, a nearby block too.

Also 30 Sahiya Didis have participated in the inaugural ceremony and Mr. Kirti Rawat (DPC, REHP) provided them tips over common eye diseases with their prevention and identification. Mr. Rajeev Kumar has been appointed as Ophthalmic Assistant here and out of toatal 18 OPD today, 5 with Cataract and 1 with Pterygium have been detected. These patients will be taken to LNJP Eye Hospital or Hazaribag Sadar Hospital for treatment without any charge.
