16-17 March 2020, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): 2 days Capacity Building training camp for small VOs of Jharkhand-Bihar took place under the program by NBJK upon Poverty Eradication, Food Security & Treatment for People with Mental Illness & Epilepsy (PwMIE) with support of Bread for the World, Germany.

During the training, Mr. Rajeev Singh (Program Manager) has discussed upon food security through technical-monetary support to farmers, skill development among rural women and treatment access for PwMIE identified at ground level. He collected feedback from partner VOs for achievement appraisal and stressed upon increased participation of beneficiary farmers-women-PwMIE to run the program more efficiently. Many VOs have cited about local problems in the field and got suggestions accordingly.

 It’s worth mentioning that every year 636 farmers get support on food security, 528 rural women receive tailoring training and about 1300 PwMIE find treatment with medicines in mental health camps being organized at Hazaribag, Gaya & Patna each month through the program.

The chief functionaries of 27 VOs from Sasaram, Gaya, Chhapra, Samastipur, Motihari, Nawada, Patna, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribag districts of Bihar & Jharkhand have participated in the training. Mr. Shankar Rana (Asst. Program Manager) has coordinated the affairs.
