Honour for #AntiLiquorWomenVolunteers on Women’s Day

08 March 2020, Hasandag (Meral, Garhwa): On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Women Honour Ceremony was organised by the network VO Janak Vikas Dhara and District Lok Samiti, Garhwa.

The program held at Panchayat Secretariat premises and Mr. Dilip Khalkho (Dy. Superintendent of Police) was the chief guest on this occasion who praised women for their efforts towards liquor prohibition. He remembered his mother who was an Aanganwadi worker and campaigned against Handiya (local booze) with other malpractices in his village. We must oppose witchcraft, alcoholism and child marriage to make a better society, Mr. Khalkho said and honoured 80 anti-liquor women volunteers with shawl & memento.

Mr. Dukhan Choudhary (Mukhiya, Hasandag) who leads these volunteers against liquor, chaired the program in dignified presence of Mrs. Anita Datta (ex-chairperson, Nagar Parishad), Mrs. Lucy Rani (police inspector), Mrs. Asha Devi (president, mahila mandal), Mr. Ramnaresh Choudhary (member, Jila Parishad), Mr. Ram Ikbal Choube, Mr. Ramashankar Choube, Mr. Gurudev Vishwakarma and many more.
