13-16 March 2019, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): Four days residential training including an exposure visit for small Voluntary Organizations and social workers has been organized under Poverty Eradication Programme supported by Bread for the World, Germany. The programme bears the components like general food security and treatment of PwMIE (People with Mental Illness & Epilepsy).
Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) has addressed the participants during concluding session and said that some progressive farmers defeated the very idea of non-profit agriculture and they are making income through new practices with farming as well as with dairy. He placed an example of Kunwar Dairy Farm by Major (Retd.) Uma Shankar at village-Amrit Nagar which could earn the profit of around 35% with improved production of milk & crops by a professional-scientific approach. An exposure visit to Kunwar Dairy and it’s vegetables unit was arranged for the VOs. On initial days, the trainees were provided training support on Documentation, Media Liaison and Accounting System.
On documentation & media liaison, Mr. Vinay Kumar Bhatta was the resource person who discussed about the topics like minute book, case study, news clips, photo-video usage, visitors’ views, annual report, handbill-poster-brochure, event report, correspondence and advantage of positive news. Also he provided tips for drafting a press release and said that our press release must reflect a support to the issues of weaker section, social harmony and environment protection but to oppose superstition, atrocity and social inertia. On accounting system, Mr. Pravesh Singh has briefed about the role & responsibility of cashier-account officer, methods of accounting, vouchers, account, supporting registers, cash book, ledger, trial balance, receipt-payment, income-expenditure, audit, assets & liabilities, balance sheet, book keeping etc.
Total 27 VOs from Chatra, Koderma, Hazaribag, Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Gaya, Nawada, Muzaffarpur, Khagaria, Chhapra, Patna, Motihari districts of Jharkhand and Bihar were represented in this residential training. Mr. Rajeev Singh (Programme Manager) and Mr. Shankar Rana (Asst. PM) played important role to organize the training.
