11 August 2018, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): With support of CSWB, New Delhi & JSSWB, Ranchi, NBJK run Family Counselling Centre has organized a legal awareness camp for Women & their Children in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Hazaribag. DLSA team leaders Bhaiya Mukesh Kumar and Md. Moazzam (Advocates) have introduced the program before women participants invited by FCC. They elaborated about Foster Care laws, their scope and application. Mr. Saurabh Anshu (Advocate) has informed that twin-born children will be given to the same family and any adoption requires fulfilment of legal procedure after consultation with District Child Welfare Committee. These conditions are set to provide protection of such adopted children and to make them responsible citizens too, he opined.
Md. Moazzam has articulated about compensation scheme for women victims/survivors of sexual assaults/other crimes-2018, equal rights for all before the law and said that our constitution has discarded untouchability as well as provides ample space for citizens’ security from anti-social elements. Bhaiya Mukesh declared that the door of DLSA is always open for the people in need of legal support to get justice and safety measures for women-children are our top priority. He assured that DLSA will initiate in such cases and appealed the audience to be sensitive towards orphan, labourer or trafficked children as we all are responsible to make a safe society. Ms Kiran Kumari (law student) has focused upon girls’ education, their self-reliance and parent-child dialogue while Ms Neha Anzum (law student) has requested the women to send their children to school positively as this promotes socialization.
The DLSA team was comprised by Messrs Kunal Raj, Manoj Kumar Rana, Sanjay Kumar, Chhatthu Ram (all para-leagal volunteers) and more than 70 women participants from Amrit Nagar, Oriya, Baihri, Sakhiya, Nutan Nagar have attended the program. Mrs. Meera Gupta (Counsellor, FCC) has thanked DLSA members and village women to make the leagal awareness camp a success.
