Gutkha203 August, Hazaribag: NBJK and Lok Samiti have supported and organized programs for “Gutkha Chhodo” campaign led by Mr. Ashutosh Maanav from Manav Samaj Sewa Sabha, Hilsa (Nalanda, Bihar). Mr. Maanav and his team have addressed students of Lord Krishna High School (Amrit Nagar), Amrit Nagar High School and Government Middle School at Oriya village. They made children and youngsters aware of bad habits of Gutkha, liquor etc. and played street shows to communicate the message. Also the students have taken lifelong oath to discard these things.

Mr. Asutosh Manav has said that children are more sensitive towards social evils and they must have ability to differentiate between good and bad. He informed that our government gets annual revenue of Rs. 8000 crore from Gutkha business that engulfs Rs. 40,000 crore yearly upon treatment of Gutkha caused diseases. He appealed for social support to ban Gutkha and Liquor effectively. This Anti-Gutkha Campaign was welcomed by Mr. Amitabh Kumar (Principal) and Mr. Sumant Upadhayay (Teacher) at Lord Krishna School while Mrs. Jyoti J. Lakra (Head Mistress) and Mr. Ratneshwar Nath pathak (Senior Teacher) have received the team at Govt. Middle School, Oriya. At Amrit Nagar High School, Mr. Indra Kumar Yadav (Principal), Md. Zareeb and other teachers have cooperated to organize the program.

There were more than 500 students participated in the campaign against Gutkha and Liquor at Hazaribag. Mr. Manav and friends have started from Hilsa and travelled through Biharsharif, Rajauli, Koderma before submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister at Ranchi.
