
22 October 2018, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): A symposium upon Complete Ban to Liquor in Jharkhand was held under joint auspices of NBJK and Hazaribag Jila Lok Samiti. Mr. Suresh Khairnar (President, Rashtra Sewa Dal) from Pune was the chief guest & speaker of this program. In his address, Mr. Khairnar put the issue of liquor ban as a priority for the state government whom he suggested to implement during 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The RSD President called liquor as a result of materialistic attitude and correlated terrorism with liquor & drugs. Mr. Khairnar named Panjab & north-eastern states of India as the victim of such trend that destroyed social fabrics and enflamed anti-women crimes there. He offered full support to NBJK – Lok Samiti for the effort to make Jharkhand as a liquor free state. Mr. Shahid Kamal (General Secretary, Rashtra Sewa Dal) focused upon women’s crucial support for liquor ban and said about activities of Rashtra sewa Dal among youths.
Initially in his welcome address, Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK & National Lok Samiti) mentioned about the trouble being faced by women due to liquor that thwarts our development. He alleged liquor for moral deterioration of our society and rejected the claim about revenue from liquor as it causes more expenditure for treatment of related diseases. He expressed deep concern for youths under addiction of liquor/drugs and appealed the government to control it efficiently.
Mr. Harish Shrivastava (State Spokesperson, RJD) has supported for a Jharkhand fully prohibited from all addictions and this must be initiated from family, he said. Ex-Mukhiya Mr. Nandlal Saw warned about the increasing trend of alcoholic welcome for guests in families and wanted for a forceful social reform movement. Mr. Shamsher Alam cursed liquor as Haraam by Islam while Mr. Gautam Sagar Rana (Ex-President, State RJD) has remembered late Karpuri Thakur (Ex-CM, Bihar) for his sincere effort to liquor prohibition in united Bihar. Mr. Rana supported current government of Bihar over liquor ban and demanded for a separate chapter in school syllabus about No to Liquor. All have supported his demand. He said that liquor spoils our religious festivals and stands behind sorry state of tribal people. He suggested to meet the Hon. Chief Minister with a proposal to ban liqquor by the law. Mr. Arjun Yadav insisted to raise budget for education and health by the governments and Mr. Bateshwar Mehta offered his participation for any anti liquor movement in villages.
Prof. (retd.) R. S. Ambashtha chaired the symposium and said that liquor represents western civilization in the conflict of civilizations. He suggested for mentality change also with legal barrier. Mr. Shankar Rana (Coordinator, State Lok Samiti) has anchored the proceedings and concluded with vote of thanks. There were about 80 men-women from nearby villages those attended the meeting.
09 October 2018, Ranchi: A Job fair for the differently abled youths was organised under the program of SAHYOG with support of VSO India Trust, New Delhi and Randstat India, Chennai. The event took place under the aegis of Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra and National Career Service (NCS), an initiative by Ministry of Labour and Employment, Govt. of India. The Job Fair or Rojgar Mela held at the National Career Service Centre, Ranchi.
The job fair was supported by the corporate sector as well as the civil society. The focus was on introducing different employers with vacancies and training institutes to the differently abled and the other way around. If the contestant was interested in the company and his vacancy, he or she could immediately go for a job interview.
There were total 177 differently abled youths present at the Job fair. 5 companies including Reliance Retail, Nimbus BPO and Black Cobra have offered their placements for the aspirants. For the attendees those were looking to be skilled, also training institutes were present like Youth4jobs, the largest organisation in India that focuses on skilling and placing youth with disability in jobs.
At the end of the day almost 50% of the attendees were in a selection procedure with one of the employers or training institutes. Some of them got directly selected and found a job on the day self, others got shortlisted for the second round and invited by the company for a second job interview.
The job fair proved like an effective way to bring different kind of companies, vacancies and a lot of job seekers together. As the output, differently abled youth found jobs and companies get motivated employees. The smiling faces of differently abled youths have made the day special.
11 October 2018, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): A seminar was organized under joint aegis of Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra and Hazaribag Jila Lok Samiti on the occasion of 116th birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter & Sarvodaya leader Loknayak Jayprakash Narayan aka JP.
Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK & National Lok Samiti) has introduced a short life sketch of JP before the audience and praised for his renunciation in service of our nation. JP sacrificed everything for his motherland during the freedom movement and contributed a lot to the independent India with his active leadership on mass related issues like Sarvodaya, Bhudaan, Drought Relief, Peaceful Solution of Naxal Problem, Students Movement, Opposition of Emergency and Strengthening of Grassroots Democracy, he opined. Mr. Girija Satish mentioned about the suffering of imprisoned JP under atrocious British rule and his miraculous abscondence from Hazaribag jail also. JP was deeply concerned with the problems of India and his support to NBJK is unforgettable as he provided Bhudan land and other helps to the organization initially, NBJK President recalled.
Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) said that JP used to believe in common people and led the youths amazingly despite his old age. Also he pointed out about Magsaysay Award (1965) and Bharat Ratna (1999) to JP as an acknowledgment to his immense contribution for a better society. Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma (Treasurer, NBJK) recollected about simplicity as well as time management of JP and the person behind as Mrs. Jayprabha (his wife) who cared JP, made his life memorable and supported him to maintain lifelong celibacy.
Mr. Pravesh Singh (Asst. Manager-Finance, NBJK) has thrown light over the modusoperandi of the VOs founded by JP and appealed to follow the great personality who devoted everything to make India. The seminar was anchored by Mr. Rajeev Kumar Singh (Program Manager, NBJK) and many people like Messrs Mithilesh Kumar, Arun Verma, Sanjay Sinha, Sudhir Upadhyay, Sumit Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Surendra Kumar, Kishor Prasad, Santosh Sinha have attended the program.
02 October 2018, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): NBJK and Hazaribag district Lok Samiti have celebrated 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi to remember Father of the Nation benevolently. A symposium was organized on this occasion and Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK & National Lok samiti) introduced about importance of the day before an audience of more than 100 women, men & children from nearby villages. He said that Mahatma Gandhi is such a towering personality who deserves to be called much more than the father of the nation or a leader of freedom movement merely. He accepted the challenge to live with values and evolved many ideas like Sarvodaya, Trusteeship to establish socio-economic justice in India, NBJK president opined. Gandhiji outlined about a model life for any individual as well as for a nation and campaigned against social evils with focus upon women & untouchables, he explained. Mr. Girija said that there is no way except Gandhi, if we want to make a better world.
Mr. Bateshwar Mehta (political leader) has branded Gandhi as the symbol of truth, non-violence and sanitation who represented our humanity. Mr. Arvind Jha (advocate) talked about the empathy Gandhi Jee felt for all, also he demanded for a Gandhi Study Center at Vinoba Bhawe University in Hazaribag. Mr. Shamsher Alam (businessman) identified Gandhi with India and insisted to strengthen his ideology. Mr. Nandlal Saw (ex-mukhiya, Oriya) mentioned about hurdles with honesty and appealed to support genuine social workers. Prof. K. P. Sharma (retd. head, PG dept. of Pol. Sc., VBU) praised Mahatma Gandhi for developing a philosophy after practice only to bring change and guided for a new social order with dignity of labour, service & self-reliance. Dr. Prasanna Mishra (Bureau Chief, Hindustan) called Gandhi Jee an all time global personality and put forth the value of self-examination. Mr. Awdhesh Pandey (social worker) appealed for communal harmony, an all time issue for Gandhiji. Mr. Arjun Yadav (political leader) requested educated people to be responsible and asked about the gap between their words & actions. Md. Islam Khan (ex-defence officer) described him as a worshiper of humanity who won with love and needs to be followed. Md. Khalid (Murda Kalyan Samiti) termed love and non-violence as eternal legacy from Gandhi.
From the chair, Prof. R. S. Ambashtha (ex-head, PG dept. of Philosophy, VBU) said that Mahatma Gandhi perceives human life as a whole and aims for inner change possible through love only. Mr. Shankar Rana (Coordinator, Jharkhand State Lok Samiti) anchored the dais and thanked all at the end. The meeting was participated by the people from villages like Amrit Nagar, Oriya, Singhani, Nutan Nagar, Baihri, Rola etc.
19 September 2018, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Director, NBJK) has celebrated his 32nd birthday by planting five Papaya seedlings inside the coordination office campus at Amrit Nagar, Hazaribag. Most of the office staffs were present on this occasion and they conveyed their best wished to Mr. Gaurav.
The event was blessed by Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) who welcomed the tradition of plantation being revived now-a-days on such joyful events. We must make plantation like a religious practice at the time of rituals like birthday or worship etc. to bestow our best wishes to the people we love from the core of our heart, he said. Our children should know the importance of plants & trees to maintain even human relationship as witness of our love, NBJK President explained and appealed the people to adopt plantation as a measure towards protecting environment currently in bad state due to heavy deforestation.
This different birthday was concluded with sweets distribution and Messrs Prabhu Nath Sharma, Anand Abhinav, Pravesh Singh, Rajeev Kumar Singh, Sudhir Kumar Upadhyaya, Surendra Kumar, Santosh Kumar Sinha, Mithilesh Kumar, Sartaz Ahmad, Dhananjay Kumar Singh, Shatrughan Thakur and others have attended the function.
17 – 19 September 2018, Ranchi: Under Axis Bank Foundation, Mumbai supported Program of Sustainable Livelihood to Youths, 3 days training of trainers (ToT) was organized at NBJK, Ranchi. Mr. N. V. Satyanarayana Rao from Hyderabad was the resource person for the training who is a Life & Career Coach, Mentor & Motivational Speaker with a background in behavioural psychology. Mr. Rao has 15+ years experience of the field and he deals with a number of employers, corporate houses and NGOs as his clients.
On first day, he focused upon SWOT analysis, Sunconscious Mind & Habits and Goal Setting after introduction, training expectations and about Self-Awareness with some icebreaker excercises. The second day was initiated with Recap and covered the topics like Decision Making, Communication Skills, Time Management and Team Building along with Icebreakers. While the last day was intended to discuss Facilitation Skills among the faculties of Rozgar Training Centers from Ranchi, Hazaribag, Ramgarh, Khunti, Koderma, Dumka, Giridih, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur.
There were 24 participants in the training and Mr. Ankit Kumar (State Program Manager, PSLY) has coordinated the traning.
31 August 2018, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribag): NBJK run Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Eye Hospital organized a thanksgiving ceremony at its premises to honor Mr. Jayant Sinha (Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation), Mr. Sanjeev Jindal (GM, Engg. & CSR) – Airport Authority of India and Dr. Prabhat Ranjan Beooria (Airport Director, Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi) for financial support worth Rs. 22 lacs to purchase the Optical Biometer, an advance equipment for eye check up purpose. Its remarkable that merely 6 months back, Mr. Sinha has promised to provide such an apparatus to the hospital during his last visit during inaugural function of Spectacles & Medicines Centers in the hospital campus.
Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) welcomed the honorable minister, his supporters and AAI Officials at the dais and praised Mr. Sinha for the pomise he kept as providing an Optical Biometer for the people suffering from cataract & other eye related complications. He valued the contribution for a cause and thanked all others also associated with this process. Mr. Janyant Sinha said that any good objective never lacks means for its accomplishment and this applies here as NBJK intends to serve the people through LNJP Eye Hospital. This will add to health facilities along with coming projects of Medical College-Hospital and Akshay Patra program with nutritious mid day meal for 1 lac school children in Hazaribag district, he expressed. The minister has insisted NBJK management to open another eye hospital at Ramgarh district also.
Mr. Sanjeev Jindal (GM, Engg. & CSR) – AAI, has assured for more support for development of Hazaribag on priority basis and launching of Akshay Patra from November 2018.
On this occasion, Dr. Prabhat Ranjan Beooria (Airport Director, Ranchi) and Mr. Satish Girija (Secreatary, NBJK) have signed the MoU and exchanged the documents for the said CSR support. At last, messrs Jayant Sinha, Sanjeev Jindal, Dr. Prabhat Ranjan Beooria and others have handed in the cheque in favour of Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra to Mr. Satish Girija publicly.
The function was attended by Mrs. Sabi Devi, Mr. Tunu Gope, Mr. Mahavir Saw, Mr. Surendra Sinha, Mr. Sanjeev Katriwar, Mr. Rajesh Sahay, Mr. Gajadhar Prasad and many other dignitaries of the area. 28 August 2018, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): Hazaribag District Unit of Lok Samiti and NBJK have organized a condolence meeting after demise of Mr. Kuldeep Nayar on 23 August in Delhi. The meeting was attended by many social workers, journalists, activists and intellectuals. They offered flowers, garlanded the photo of late Nayar Jee and observed 2 minutes silence to pay homage to the departed soul.
Mr. Girija Satish (President, National Lok Samiti) described him as the man with multilateral talent who worked efficiently as a journalist-writer, peace-human rights activist, a diplomat and an MP (Rajya Sabha member) too. Mr. Girija recalled Late Nayar for his favour to truth, justice and commitment to strengthen non-political organizations under banner of Sampoorna Kranti Manch during 1984 and onwards. Mr. Nayar has played key role in organizing the Bicycle Rally from Patna to Delhi by Lok Samiti in 1987 for Right to Work and he was a member of the delegation met Mr. R. Venkataraman, the President of India at that time, he remembered. Mr. Girija shared the memoirs that how Mr. Kuldeep Nayar participated in several functions of Intercaste-Interreligion Marriages on the platform of Antarjateeya Antardharmik Vivaah Manch/Manav Jodo Abhiyan by Lok Samiti and his contribution to a class room construction at NBJK run Amoli Apurva High School, Maangarh from MP fund. He paid a rich tribute to the deceased on behalf of the Lok Samiti-NBJK family.
The condolence meeting was presided by Mr. Swaroop Chand Jain (Advocate & Partaker of ’74 movement), who termed the incident as a severe loss to Indian democracy. Mr. Arvind Jha (Advocate-cum-activist) has praised the role of Mr. Nayar in this grand world theater while Dr. Vishwanath Azad (Social Worker) identified him as a source of inspiration for social workers. Dr. Mrs. Kiran Rana (Academician) appreciated Mr. Nayar for his pro-people approach and Mr. Umesh Pratap (Journalist) portraited him as a person against current trend who wished to change the system. Mr. Filman Bakhla (Social Activist) has applauded Mr. Nayar’s priceless role for strengthening of our nation and society. Mr. Arjun Yadav (’74 movement contributor) expressed his grief as ending of an era and a voice for unvoiced people.

18 August 2018, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): With support of HDB Financial Services Ltd., Mumbai, NBJK run Remedial Coaching Centres (RCCs) of Sadar & Churchu blocks have organized a competition in quiz, essay, drawing & spelling test for girl children of 8th, 9th & 10th classes. The program was participated by 45 students from 15 RCCs at Churchu, Rola, Lalpur, Demotaand, Daroo, Jhumra, Jagdishpur, Meru, Sarauni Kala, Mandai Khurd, Babhanwai, Amrit Nagar, Silwar Kala, Baihri & Nagwaan villages.
After showing abilities by the contributors, the judges have declared Ms Shaalu Kumari (Babhanwai), Ms Khushee Rani (Amrit Nagar) and Ms Komal Kumari (Amrit Nagar) as winners on first, second & third positions. These children have appreciated the very idea of RCC for girl children and asked for it’s initiation in every village to promote girls’ education. Apart from them, other girls too have expressed their views upon the event and welcomed this as a booster for confidence building.
On this occasion, Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma (Treasurer, NBJK) conferred prizes among the winners and said that such competitions provide an interesting academic environment and concerned experiences work in future to click competitive examinations. All participants of this competition were given consolation prizes.
The block coordinators and teachers like Messrs Vikram Kumar, Pintu Kumar Dangi, Manoj Bihari, Jawed Hussain, Sanjay Mahto, Purandar Kumar, Saurabh Suman, Nisha Kumari and Pranav Kumar have worked hard to organize the competition.
15 August 20118, Hazaribag: 72nd Independence Day of the nation was celebrated gracefully at the coordination office of NBJK. Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) has hoisted the national flag at 8 a. m. sharp in the office premises. In his address to the staffs and community people, he correlated independence with democracy and stressed upon democratic values enshrined by our constitution. He expressed deep concern over incidents of mob linching, mass suicide and said that such tragedies are against humanity, law and science as well as remind us for right interpretation of religions also. Mr. Girija has called to develop a rational, compassionate thinking in people’s mind to get rid of superstitions and recalled Mahopnishad that says about the whole world as one family. Our system must be people-centric and most of us need proper education to dilute divisive forces, NBJK President voiced. He appealed the people to be responsible.
Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) has conveyed best wishes to all and said that NBJK has been working with common people for their independence from illiteracy, poverty, diseases and the delight of of an independent nation should reach to all citizens. He suggested NBJK workers to be conscious about their identity among people and to put more efforts in their service. Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma (Treasurer, NBJK) congratulated the people on this occasion and remembered the martyrs who sacrificed everything to liberate our nation. He found the day as most energizing one and differentiated independence from freakishness. To maintain and improve this independence is like a challenge to be accepted, he opined. Mr. Pravesh Singh (Asst. Finance Manager, NBJK) was anchoring the function ended with patriotic slogans. The Independence Day was celebrated in branch offices & organization run schools also with much fanfare.
