29 June 2021, Amrit Nagar-Bahera Ashram (Hazaribag): With support of Goonj-Delhi, NBJK has distributed Food items among the people worried due to second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

At Amrit Nagar based co-ordination office of NBJK, Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) and Mr. Suresh Kumar (Representative, Goonj) have distributed Relief Kits among 40 needy people from villages like Pelawal, Romi, Harhad, Mandai, Dumranw, Khirgaon, Harina, Sulmi, Alakhdiha etc. The recipients include many Madarsa teachers & Persons with Disabilities.

Likewise at Bahera Ashram (NBJK Head Office)-Chauparan, Mr. Satish Girija and Mr. Suresh Kumar handed over the Relief Kits to families of 110 COVID deceased persons & PwDs from Bahera, Iguniya, Mangarh, Machla, Singhrawan, Jhapa and other villages. Each Kit consisted with 10 kg Rice, 10 kg Flour, 2 kg Lentil Pulse, 1 kg Gram, 1 litre Mustard Oil & 2 pcs of Soap.

Mr. Ajit Kumar (Goonj) & NBJK staffs as Mr. Rajeev Singh, Mr. Shankar Rana, Mr. Shailesh Kumar, Mr. Rajkumar Gupta, Mr. Ayodhya Bharti, Mr. Virendra Sinha, Mrs. Maya Mishra, Mrs. Poonam Kumari, Mr. Narayan Rajak, Mr. Brijnandan Singh, Mr. Navratna Pandey have contributed to the event.

24 June 2021, Hazaribag: With support of GiveIndia, US GiveIndia Foundation, Skoll Foundation and Linde, NBJK is organizing COVID Care Rural Outreach Camps in rural areas at panchayat level.

During 15-23 June, such outreach camps have covered 66 villages of 16 panchayats in Hazaribag Sadar, Daroo, Ichak, Vishnugarh blocks of the district. These attended 976 OPD with sugar test for 233 and identified cataract with 51 & pterygium with 6. NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Bahera (Chauparan, Hazaribag) will take care of the people suffering from eye problems under its Rural Eye Health program with support of Sightsavers @SightsaversIndia @SightsaversIN

At the camps, medicines are being distributed among patients of cough, cold, throat infection and 16 Rural Medical Practitioners have received the sets of Oximeter & Infrared Thermometer to improve their easily accessible service for villagers.

There is a 10 members team consisted to hold Covid Care Rural Outreach Camps. Dr. (Mrs.) Megha Sinha and Dr. Krishna Kumar are the physicians with the team.

21-23 June 2021, Hazaribag: With support of #AzimPremjiPhilanthropicInitiativesPvtLtd NBJK has started distribution of COVID relief materials among poor families. The ration & food stuffs received by each beneficiary are as follows – Rice-25 kg, Gram Pulse-1 kg, Lentil Pulse-1 kg, Chilli-200 gm, Salt-1 kg, Flour-10 kg, Potato-5 kg, Onion-1 kg, Margo Soap-2 pcs, Mask-2 pcs, Mustard Oil-1 kg and Turmeric-200 gm.

The recipients belong to Hazaribag town and adjacent villages. On 21st June, 111 people from Korra, Babugaon, Nutan Nagar, Amrit Nagar have received the relief materials while on 22nd June, 153 identified persons from Hazaribag Sadar, Rola, Amrit Nagar, Jinga, Goplo, Sarauni, Silwar, Jhumra, Daroo, Meru, Sindur, Siyari, Khirgaon areas got the same.

Today on 23rd June, 125 people of Hazaribag Sadar, Ichak, Katkamdaag, Meru, Daroo, Jhumra, Silwar and Sarauni villages have come to Amrit Nagar based Coordination Office of NBJK to collect the relief materials.

Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) said that these relief materials are being distributed among 600 plus families. Besides this, with support of Goonj @goonj.org @goonj soon we will provide dry ration kit to 150 Persons with Disabilities in Chauparan block of Hazaribag district, Mr. Girija Satish adds.

15 June 2021, Silwar (Hazaribag): With support of GiveIndia, US GiveIndia Foundation, Skoll Foundation and Linde, NBJK has organized the maiden event of COVID Care Rural Outreach Camp at Govt. Middle School, Silwar premises.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Manish Jaiswal @Manishjhzb @ manishjaiswalbjp Hon. MLA from Hazaribag Sadar seat. He mentioned about various post COVID complications and appreciated NBJK for organizing camps in rural areas for basic health checkup & treatment to villagers. Hon. Member of Legislative Assembly-Jharkhand praised the organization for providing Oximeter & Infrared Thermometer to Rural Medical Practitioners also and appealed the people to take vaccine without paying any attention to rumor mongers. He handed over Oximeters & Infrared Thermometers to local RMPs like Mr. Kedar Prasad, Mr. Sunil Kumar and Mr. Meghan Prasad.

Before this, Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) welcomed Hon. MLA and said about the program which aims to access minimum 9000 people in 450 villages of Hazaribag district. This will provide medicines to villagers suffering from cold-cough-fever or COVID after their checkup. Besides that, checkup of blood pressure-blood sugar-cataract will be available for the persons of 40-50 years age group and NBJK run LNJP eye hospital, Bahera (Chauparan) will conduct their cataract surgery free of cost, he informed. Also we started a COVID Care Center at LNJPEH which offers free of cost complete treatment for severe patients of COVID-19 with facility of 30 Oxygen supported beds, Mr. Satish Girija pointed out. He added that NBJK will equip RMPs with Oximeter & Infrared Thermometer to ensure proper treatment in rural areas and talked about the pamphlet issued by NBJK regarding advices & support upon COVID-19 cases NBJK Secretary thanked Dr. (Mrs.) Medha Sinha and Dr. Krishna Kumar for providing their services during outreach camps and reiterated that if any family has lost its main earning member due to Corona, such family members can get one month’s ration and Rs. 15,000 as support amount from the organization.

On this occasion, Mr. Mahendra Ram (Mukhiya, Silwar panchayat) has appreciated NBJK for relief works and health care support to the people. He remembered the organization’s work done in last year.

At the end, Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) has thanked Hon. MLA for inaugurating the camp and requested people to get vaccine as well as to follow guidelines if we want to defeat third wave of COVID-19.

Another outreach camp held at Library building of Meru village. Both the camps have ensured health checkup & medicines for total 92 persons.

Mr. Rajeev Kumar (Mukhiya, Meru panchayat), Dr.(Mrs.) Medha Sinha, Mr. Anjani Kumar Sinha, Mrs. Sunita Kumari, Ms Neelam, Mr. Ajay, Mr. Sudhir Kumar were present in the camps.

                                                                                

04 June 2021, village-Bongiya, Barachatti: NBJK has organized a COVID Care Camp at Bongiya village of Mohanpur block. The camp was inaugurated by Honorable MP from Gaya, Mr. Vijay Manjhi.

First of all he has gone through the checkup of his own Oxygen Level, Temperature & Pulse Rate. After that, he said about preventive measures to be taken to stay away from COVID. He insisted for Mask and Vaccine for all. The Member of Parliament pointed out that still our people are being influenced by a whirl of fallacies and become superstitious when someone poses themselves as Dev Pari (God Fairy) and COVID will go if we drink the water from their hands while some people go by the idea of Cow Dung-Urine as a remedy for Corona. Mr. Manjhi opined that we must get rid of such false notions.

In his brief address, Hon. Lok Sabha member has praised NBJK & Lok Samiti for continuous efforts to make people’s lives better and during this time of a dreadful pandemic too, they came forward with such substantial campaign against COVID. He thanked the members of Team COVID Care Camp from NBJK.

On this occasion, Mr. Kaushal Ganesh Azad (National Coordinator, Lok Samiti) said that even though the Corona cases have reduced now but to take precautions is still important. He has suggested to keep distance from the people spreading rumors. Also Mr. Rajendra Prasad, Mr. Badri Paswan (Lok Samiti), Mr. Arjun Manjhi, Mr. Baleshwar and many other important figures of the locality were present there.

The members of Team COVID Care Camp as Mr. Karunanidhi (I/C, LNJPEH), Mr. Praveen Kumar, Ms Seema Kumari, Ms Anjali Kumari and Mr. Sanjay Raj have played important role in health assessment of villagers like measurement of oxygen level, fever, pulse rate and distribution of medicines among them.

14-22 May 2021, Chauparan (Hazaribag): With support of Schroders-Singapore, NBJK organizes outreach screening camps in rural areas of Chauparan block where people don’t have much health facility to fight with COVID-19.

NBJK team provides Oximeter & Thermometer to Mukhiya (Headman)/Teacher/Village Health Worker in villages so that the people have access to monitor their SpO2 (Oxygen) level or temperature and in any case of abnormality they can be admitted timely in hospital. The team arranges necessary checkup and distributes medicine kit among villagers.

Till date the team has organized 14 screening camps in 14 villages like Prajapat Nagar, Mangarh, Pasai, Kutlu, Karma, Daihar with others and ensured checkup for 658 people. Mr. Anand Abhinav (Program Director, NBJK) says that we aim to reach inside 300 villages of the block through this campaign and he expresses sincere gratitude to #Schroders for timely support to the needy people.                   

11 May 2021, Bahera (Chauparan), Hazaribag: Mr. Jayant Sinha (Hon. MP-Hazaribag) has inaugurated Covid Care Center online at NBJK run Loknayak Jai Prakash Eye Hospital.

This 30 bedded CC Center is situated on hospital’s 3rd floor constructed with support from Aditya Birla Capital. The Center has been established and completed in record time under able guidance of the honorable Member of Parliament from Hazaribag. Currently 5 oxygen supported beds are functional here with chances to add 20 such beds soon. Mr. Sinha assured to initiate two more CCCs at Hazaribag and a nearby block with capacity of 50 oxygen supported beds.

On this occasion Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) has expected for full co-operation from people & their representatives and said that NBJK is trying to mobilize fund to provide free of cost treatment for COVID-19 suffering poor laborers.

The online inaugural program was participated by Mr. Mukesh Sinha, Mr. Manish Sinha, Mr. Rajesh Sahay, Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK), Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Director, NBJK), Mr. Anand Abhinnav (Program Director, NBJK), Mr. Sudeep Abhishek Bara (Manager, LNJPEH) and Mr. Karunanidhi (Asst. Manager, LNJPEH) also.

16 April 2021, Churchu (Hazaribag): Under Child Centered Community Development Program with support of Plan India, NBJK has launched project Uday today.

Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) inaugurated this in a simple ceremony organized as per COVID guidelines. He explained about the objectives of the project which provides a well-timed monetary support of Rs. 5,000 through demand draft to the families of sponsored children.

The money will go to the bank account of child’s mother with coverage of 1910 families across 21 villages in Churchu block.

27 March 2021, Banaha (Hazaribag): Under the program of Girls’ Education Sponsorship with support of Action Village India-UK, support books have been provided to 16 girl students of class X at Saraswati Bal Uchch Vidyalaya, Banaha as they will appear in board examination in coming months.

Here total 75 girls from class VI-X are being catered through Stri Shakti, a partner organization of NBJK & AVI. Also the girls have enjoyed a colorful Holi Get-Together in the school premises and had special dishes on the occasion. Mr. Sarju Gope (head teacher), Mr. Dilip Kesri, Mr. Pyare Lal, Mr. Vinod Kumar and Mr. Ajay Kumar (all teachers) have monitored the event participated by Ms Niki Soren, Mr. Abhay Kumar (both from NBJK), Mr. Chandan Kumar (Stri Shakti) and some parents also.

This will boost up the morale of our girl children and they went through a different experience of school life also, the head teacher said.

26 March 2021, Hazaribagh: Under joint auspices of Sightsavers & NBJK, “Netra Vasant”a rural eye health program has been launched in Hazaribag. Dr. Marshal Aind (Director-Services, NPCBVI & Director-SBCS) was the chief guest of this inaugural ceremony. He valued SHGs as quite instrumental for access to eye care services in rural areas and stressed upon coordination between DBCS & Sightsavers-NBJK.

Mr. Sudipto Mohanti (Regional Director, Sightsavers) regarded rural eye health program as vital for common people and asked for collective effort. Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal (civil Surgeon, Hazaribagh) has assured for all possible support to Netra Vasant and requested Sightsavers to make some essential apparatuses available for district hospital. NBJK Secretary Mr. Satish Girija said that all of us face eye problems and it is our responsibility to make the service reachable for every family in villages. There should be a good quality Vision Centre at block level, he suggested. Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Director, NBJK) said about need of inclusive up gradation of govt. health centers from eye care view point.

Also Dr. Jitendra Kumar (Programme Officer, Sightsavers), Dr. Umesh Kumar (Ophthalmologist, Sadar Hospital), Dr. A. N. Singh (eye specialist, Shrinivas Hospital), Col. Vinay Kumar (Rohini Devi Rotary Netralaya) have shared their views and Eye Assistants from PHCs of Sadar, Ichak, Vishnugarh, Barkagaon, Barhi blocks have participated in the function. Mr. Karunanidhi (LNJPEH, Bahera) and Mr. Kirti Rawat (DPM-REH) have contributed to the occasion.
