03 September 2021, Khunti: In a function held at local Town Hall, Mr. Subhash Kumar (Chief Managing Director, ONGC) @ONGCLimited @ONGC_ inaugurated #LacHandicraftsUnit by Murhu Nari Shakti Kisan Producer Company Limited (MNSKPCL), a community institution formed under the programme of Lakhpati Kisan-Smart Village by CInI @cinicell, Tata Trusts @tatatrusts and NBJK.

On the pious occasion of Amrit Mahotsava on 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, ONGC will promote 75 kinds of traditional handicrafts in different geographical areas of the nation. In first phase, it will facilitate 5 types of handicrafts and lac handicrafts unit in Khunti district is one among these, Mr. Subhash Kumar said.

Its remarkable that with financial support of ONGC Foundation @ongcfoundation @FoundationOngc, MNSKPCL is opening Lac Handicrafts Unit in two villages-Digdi and Binda for value addition to its lac produce. The initiative will make employment available for 40 to 50 women directly. The company plans to make lac bangles, beauty/makeup cosmetics with new products and to market these in Jharkhand including other states. This is to enhance income of the lac cultivator shareholders of the company.

Mr. Kiran D. M. (CEO, ONGC Foundation) has shared specific information upon handicrafts unit through his online presentation before all participants and the people present. On this opening, Mr. Ganesh Neelam (ED, CInI-Tata Trusts) shared his experience with women artisans while Mr. Girija Satish (ED, NBJK) boosted morale of local craftswomen and expressed sincere gratitude towards ONGC Foundation for the support.

During inaugural ceremony, tribal women have greeted the participants with Mundari folk dance.  Mr. Sirshendu Paul (Regional Manager, CInI-Tata Trusts), Mrs. Garima Kumari (Regional Co-ordinator, CInI-Tata Trusts) and Mr. Mohit Purty (Branch Manager, NBJK-Khunti) were present in the function.

26 August 2021, Lohardaga: Lohardaga District Lok Samiti and Lohardaga Gram Swarajya Sansthan (LGSS) have organized a convention upon Liquor Prohibition with support of NBJK & Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation, Mumbai. Mr. Girija Satish (President, National Lok Samiti) was the keynote speaker of this program held at New Town Hall where Mr. C. P. Yadav (Secretary, LGSS) welcomed him and explained about the need of liquor prohibition.

Earlier the members of Lohardaga District Lok Samiti have received Mr. Girija Satish at the bank of Shankh River where he garlanded the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

In his address during the convention, Mr. Girija Satish said about a misconception within the Governments that holds liquor as a main source of revenue but we have to remember that alcoholism is a lethal obstruction to all-round development of our society. He stressed over betterment of women’s condition where liquor has been banned. We need to frame strict laws against this menace with support of MPs, MLAs and common people; he stated and appealed the audience to shun alcohol as well as to motivate others for the same.

Mr. Wazir Ahmad (Vice-president, Jharkhand State Lok Samiti) demanded for ban to liquor in Jharkhand like Bihar and discussed about bad effects of intoxicants. Mr. Shankar Rana (Coordinator, JSLS) correlated liquor consumption with criminal incidents. Mrs. Usha Khakha (President, Sahiya Samiti) found women as most suffering creatures due to liquor that destroys our families. Mrs. Draupdi Kujur (LGSS) recited her poem and shared some slogans upon liquor prohibition. Mrs. Suman Devi termed liquor as a poison for all.

Also Mr. K. G. Azad (National Coordinator, Lok Samiti), Mr. Sheikh Yasin (Treasurer, LGSS), Mr. K. K. Pathak, Mr. Nandlal Prasad, Mrs. Kunti Sahu, Mr. Vikram Kumar, Mr. Peter Tigga and Mr. P. P. Moni have put their opinions to discard alcoholism. About 125 women-men have participated in the event.

25 August 2021, Putki (Dhanbad): With support of NBJK & Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation-Mumbai, Dhanbad district unit of Lok Samiti has organized a convention upon Liquor Prohibition at Shramik Club. This was inaugurated by Mr. Girija Satish (President, National Lok Samiti). Before this, the office bearers-volunteers of district Lok Samiti have welcomed their national president with much fanfare during a short road show.  It is remarkable that since last two decades, Mr. Girija Satish has been raising his voice for liquor prohibition and trying to sensitize our society as well as the Governments.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Girija Satish said that development doesn’t mean economic affluence only rather this denotes to social uplftment also. Alcoholism destroys the very fabrics of our familial-social bonds; it disturbs harmony and invites anarchy around us by impaling children-youths to commit crimes, he pointed out. The president of National Lok Samiti demanded to ban liquor across India and declared that like in Bihar, we will campaign stepwise to make Jharkhand free from alcohol.

Mrs. Sundari Mahto (Chairperson, Nasha Unmoolan Mahila Samiti) has supported liquor prohibition activities by Lok Samiti and referred about many families shattered because of this all-time evil. Also Mr. Kaushal Ganesh Azad (National Coordinator, Lok Samiti), Mrs. Meena Bagi, Mrs. Anjali, Mr. Shankar Rana (Coordinator, Jharkhand State Lok Samiti), Mr. Umesh S. Usha, Mr. Jaykishan, Dr. R. K. Goswami, Md. Nayimuddin Ansari, Mrs. Nitu Singh, Mr. Baleshwar Bauri, Mrs. Dipanjali, Mrs. Basanti Goswami, Mrs. Mahzabin Parveen, Mr. Shankar Napit and Mr. Sudarshan Saw have placed their viewpoints and opposed alcohol.

The program was chaired by Mr. Abdul Hamid Ansari (President, Dhanbad District Lok Samiti) and Mr. Shankar Rawani (General Secretary, DDLS) anchored the proceeding. More than 100 people have joined the convention and supported to oust liquor from Jharkhand.

19 August 2021, Barkagaon: Ms Amba Prasad (MLA, Barkagaon) visited COVID Care Rural Outreach Camp by NBJK at the premises of Upgraded Middle School, Chandauli in Chandauli panchayat of Barkagaon block. After observing the camp, she appreciated NBJK for the initiative of health care in remote areas and thanked Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) for paying attention to her request regarding outreach camps in Barkagaon area.

Before this, Mr. Satish Girija honored the MLA by adorning with shawl and Dr. R. N. Sinha (Camp Physician) welcomed her with bouquet.

On this occasion, Mr. Satish Girija briefed about the program with support of GiveIndia, US GiveIndia Foundation, Skoll Foundation, Linde india and said that till date this recoreded 7746 OPD from 325 villages of 83 panchayats across Sadar, Daroo, Katkamdag, Katkamsandi, Padma, Churchu, Barkagaon blocks with medical consultation & medicines free of cost. Also he expressed concern over hundreds of people suffering from high BP as well as high sugar unknowingly and demanded to Hon. MLA & the state Govt. for BP-Sugar checkup instruments to Sahiya didis in villages for convenience of such patients.

Another camp held at the campus of Upgraded middle School, Soti in the same panchayat and more than 150 persons have gone through the tests of oxygen level, fever, diabetes, blood pressure, throat infection etc as per their symptoms and received medical consultation with medicines at both the camps.

Mr. Anjani Sinha, Mr. Ajay Sinha, other volunteers from NBJK along with Hon. MLA’s supporters like Mr. V. N. Chaube, Mr. Suresh Mahto, Md. Shamsher Alam, Mr. Dineshwar Pd., Mr. Fagu Bhuiyan and Mr. Anil Das have contributed to the event.

18 August 2021, Dumka: The Deputy Commissioner of Dumka Mr. Ravishankar Shukla has inaugurated a new OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) machine installed at NBJK run #LokNayakJayPrakashEyeHospital @CBMIndia. The DC praised LNJP Eye Hospital for practice of introducing new instruments and described this as an achievement for the eye hospital. He expected for uncomplicated treatment of deprived people now. He was accompanied by Dr. Bachcha Prasad Singh (Civil Sugeon, Dumka) who appealed people to get benefits of the modern equipments at LNJPEH.

It’s significant that OCT machine diagnoses internal eye screen, retina, angiography, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and helpful to treatment.

Mr. Sudarshan Pandey (NBJK, Dumka) welcomed the guests and said that the organization is dedicated to make this eye hospital a better serving entity and an OCT machine fulfills the objective.

On this occasion Mr. Rajiv Ranjan (Manager, LNJPEH-Dumka), Dr. Dhiraj Kumar, Mr. Himanshu kumar, Mr. Rajkumar and Ms Vishnu Priya have demonstrated functions of other apparatuses before the visitors. 18 August 2021, Gaya: With support of Seva Foundation-USA, NBJK initiated a Vision Center at opposite of Kedar Nath Market in Gaya City. This was inaugurated by Mr. Vijay Manjhi (Hon. MP from Gaya) who appreciated NBJK for eye care services benefitting the society, especially underprivileged people. Honourable Member of Lok Sabha said that NBJK has set an example of inclusive development through many programs upon health, education, agriculture-livelihood & civil rights for a long time.

On this occasion, Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) assured that the Vision Center is committed to provide eye checkup & treatment facility at a discounted rate for the people of Gaya or nearby places. Handling of severe eye problems or cataract surgery will take place at LNJPEH-Kajha, he said.

15 August 2021, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribag): 75th Independence Day of India has been celebrated at NBJK Coordination Office and Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) hoisted tricolor flag in presence of the staffs & local people.

In his brief address after chorus of national anthem, Mr. Girija Satish said that India passed through many transformations in post-independence era and science has contributed a lot to the process. He considered 3rd wave of COVID-19 as a severe challenge ahead, stressed upon vaccination and appealed people to ignore superstitious notions around the pandemic. NBJK president put agriculture development as a priority issue and demanded to ban liquor in Jharkhand with entire India. He discussed about alcohol borne economic-social problems and the need of strong will power by the Government and public pressure especially from women to prohibit this evil.

NBJK Secretary Mr. Satish Girija pointed out the dream of our freedom fighters for a new India and the works still due in villages after 74 years of freedom, he said. In context of poor health facilities across rural areas, he updated about the initiatives from NBJK like Covid Care Center-outreach/eye screening camps & eye care services by LNJP eye hospitals. Mr. Satish Girija said about the need of maximum people’s access to benefits of liberty, social harmony and irrigation facility in villages for about 900 million people dependent upon agriculture.

Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma (Treasurer) said that since India encountered various problems to get independence, we must remember the sacrifice of our freedom fighters and should strive to make India as per their vision. He differentiated between freedom & free will and there is no freedom to hurt anyone, he stated.

Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Director) focused upon the importance of making children acquainted with this special day and initiatives taken by NBJK to address problems in villages. Mr. Rajeev Singh (Program Manager) has briefed about the organization’s intervention to subdue COVID-19 while Mr. Abhay Kumar (Supervisor) said about the pride of being below our national flag and we must maintain its dignity, he told.

The program was anchored by Mr. Shankar Rana (Lok Samiti) and about 50 persons including children have participated in the event.

Also the branch offices, schools & eye hospitals of NBJK have celebrated Independence Day gracefully at Hazaribag, Gaya, Patna, Dumka, Deoghar, Chakai and other places.              

12 August 2021, Chakai (Jamui, Bihar): At Heth Chakai Middle School premises under the program of #SBIGramSeva with support of SBI Foundation @SBIFoundationIndia @SBI_FOUNDATION on the occasion of International Youth Day @Unitednations @UN a training-cum-job orientation camp for youths was organized with SIS Security Cell @sisgroup1974 @sisindia_ltd in presence of their officers like Mr. B. K. Jha (Commandant Officer), Mr. Chandan Kr. Chaudhary (Recruitment Officer).

They discussed with youths about job opportunity as SIS Security Guard and motivated them towards training to get placement in the company.

Total 45 youths have participated in the event. One young man Mr. Pankaj Kumar Das has been selected for training and more 4 youths from other operational villages will get the chance for training soon, Mr. S. K. Yajal (Program Manager, SBI Gram Seva, Chakai) has informed.

10 August 2021, Barkagaon (Hazaribag): After Sadar, Daroo, Katkamdag, Katkamsandi, Padma and Churchu blocks of Hazaribag district, the program of Covid Care Outreach Camp with support of GiveIndia, US GiveIndia Foundation, Skoll Foundation and Linde India, has entered in Barkagaon block now.

During the period of 03-07 August, the camps have been organized at Ango, Nayatand, Talashwar, Nimiyatand, Jarjara, Potanga, Urimari, Saandh, Ambajit,Gosaibaliya, Mahugaikala panchayats/villages of Barkagaon block with total 858 OPD by coverage of 47 villages in Barkagaon block. On behalf of Ms Amba Prasad (MLA, Barkagaon), her representative Mr. Visheshwar Nath Chaube was present in first two camps at Ango & Nayatand to support the program and 21 panchayats are to be covered within a fortnight.

Till 7th August’21, 99 Covid Care Outreach Camps have been organized in the district with coverage of almost same number of panchayats and resulted as total 6708 OPD from 292 villages. Out of total OPD, about 6% people found with high blood pressure and more or less 9% detected with high sugar also. Around 85% of total OPD availed free medicines as per prescriptions of the doctor in the camps.

Also 1 Oximeter, 1 Thermal Scan Thermometer and 1 bottle of Sanitizer have been provided to each among 102 Rural Medical Practitioners (RMPs) to ensure their safe service in the villages. The program is being supported by local PRI representatives, teachers, sahiyas, anganwadi sevikas etc.

28 July 2021, Khunti: Murhu Nari Shakti Kisan Producer Company Limited, a Farmer Producer Organization promoted by NBJK in the year 2018 under the program of Lakhpati Kisan-Smart Village with support of CInI-Tata Trusts @cinicell @TataTrusts @tatatrusts, has received the award from The Economic Times as best FPO under the category of Women Empowerment (Mahila Sashaktikaran Award) in Eastern Region.

The Company has been nominated in 2 categories i.e. Category for Best FPO and FPO-Mahila Sashaktikaran Award. MNSKPCL was awarded in 2nd Edition of Samunnati – The Economic Times FPO Awards organized as digital awards ceremony in presence of eminent persons like Prof. Ramesh Chand (Member-NITI Aayog), Mr. Padmanand V., Partner members from PSUs and Grant Thornton India LLP.

Currently with total turnover of Rs. 7 Crore 17 Lakh, MNSKPCL has 2835 women shareholders and each woman invested 1,000 INR. It works on input-output supply of high value crops, fish, lac, pigs, poultry, goats and guides members in cultivation, convergence from different govt. schemes and accounts maintenance of producer groups. In 2019, the company has been co-opted by JSLPS (Dept. of Rural Dev., GoJ) under JOHAR Program. It encouraged 23 entrepreneurs with Polyhouse nursery, Piggery, Fishery and runs Solar Based Cold Storage as well as Better Life Farming Center to support farmers.
