#LokNayakJayPrakashEyeHospital – Bahera Launches Retina Surgery Unit

12 February 2022, Bahera (Chauparan), Hazaribagh: NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital has launched a new facility for Retina Surgery. As the chief guest, Mr. Jayant Sinha @jayantsinhabjp (Hon. MP, Hazaribagh) participated in the programme while Mr. Sanjay Arora (MD, D’decor) @Ddecor graced the event online as a distinguished guest. Both of them jointly inaugurated Retina Surgery Unit of LNJPEH equipped with Vitrectomy machine and dedicated this to the people.

On the occasion, Hon. MP said that D’decor Company has provided financial support to the eye hospital for this very useful apparatus and it’s a matter of pride for this region. He praised D’decor & Mr. Sanjay Arora as well as greeted all present in the inaugural function. Hon. MP and Mr. Sanjay Arora have assured for all possible support to LNJPEH.

Before this Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) welcomed the guests and appreciated the help from Hon. MP Mr. Jayant Sinha & the MD of D’decor Mr. Sanjay Arora. This enables us to serve more people suffering from Retina problems, he mentioned with gratitude.

It’s noteworthy that earlier such eye patients had no choice but to go to big cities for their treatment. Now they can get the same locally at less cost or even no cost if someone is absolutely helpless or possesses Ayushman Card.

08 February 2022, Gaya: NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Kajha (Gaya) with supports from Mission For Vision, Wen Giving Foundation, Vivekananda Mission Asram Netra Niramay Niketan,  L V Prasad Eye Institute, Sankara Eye Hospitals & Give India, has received an Appreciation Certificate from the Government of Bihar for top performance under Ayushman Bharat (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna) program.

Mr. Sukanto Mete (Manager, LNJPEH-Kajha) has received the certificate from the hands of Dr. K. K. Roy (Civil Surgeon, Gaya) at Jay Prakash Hospital, Gaya in presence of Mr. Nalin Maurya (DPM), Mrs. Reena (District MIS), Ayushman Mitras and representatives of 20 hospitals impaneled under Ayushman Bharat.

Retina Surgery to be introduced at LNJP Eye Hospital

02 February 2022, Bahera (Chauparan), Hazaribagh: We are delighted to inform all that with support of Mr. Jayant Sinha @jayantsinhabjp (Hon. MP, Hazaribagh) the very facility of Retina Surgery is going to be started at #LokNayakJayPrakashEyeHospital-Bahera very soon and Hon. MP along with Mr. Ashok Arora (MD, D’decor) @Ddecor will inaugurate the same on 12th February, Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) has announced in a press conference held at LNJPEH today.

This will be the first eye hospital of Hazaribagh with such competence, he added. Mr. Satish Girija said that since last 15 years LNJPEH-Bahera has been serving people as provided them quality eye care with treatment of Cataract, Glaucoma, Medical Retina & other eye diseases successfully and now more patients will be benefitted by introducing the capability of Retina surgery here, for which D’décor has provided necessary equipments. He updated media persons that during the year 2021, we ensured 173569 OPD and 22730 Cataract Surgeries through 4 units of LNJPEH at Bahera, Dumka, Kajha (Gaya) & Devghar.

On this occasion Dr. Alok Kumar (Ophthalmologist, LNJPEH) explained about Retina linked disorders as well as importance of surgery. Also Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Director, NBJK), Dr. Vishakha Gupta, Mr. Santosh Puri, Mr. Vikant Singh and others were present in the press meet.

NBJK Observes #GandhiMartyrdomDay

30 January 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): Today a symposium upon Religious Harmony was organized on 74th Martyrdom Day of Mahatma Gandhi at NBJK co-ordination office. Mr. Swarup Chand Jain (Senior Advocate) chaired the program which began with garlanding photo of Gandhi Jee by all and mass hymn “Eeshwar Allah Tero Naam, Sabko Sanmati De Bhagwan”.

In course of introducing the subject, Mr. Girija Satish has paid homage to late Prabhu Nath Sharma (a Gandhian & founder member-cum-treasurer of NBJK) and said that Sarvodaya Jagat has decided to organize symposium upon religious harmony by all Gandhian organizations and this event is a part of such episode. He regretted that a well-planned attempt is taking place these days to justify the murder of Gandhi, while Gandhian thoughts can’t judged in a limited perspective like freedom movement only. Gandhi Jee did a lot of works for upliftment of all exploited classes including women, dalit & minority as well as disseminated the message of peace to world; he pointed out and mentioned him as a source of insipiration for the renowned personalities like Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela with many more. Mr. Girija Satish has termed goodness as the basic human nature, peace & love as gist of all faiths and expressed hope for a peaceful world one day.

As the keynote speaker, Mr. Gautam Sagar Rana (Ex-MLA) has depicted the mourning across India & world after assassination of Mahatma Gandhi who reached the culmination of compassion & kindheartedness. He praised the vision of Gandhi Jee who warned about the risk of our dependency over machines, now appearing gradually as artificial intelligence. He considered the partition of India as a temporary incident and was optimistic for reunification, Mr. Rana said. Also he placed resolutions related to Gandhi Vichar Yatra among people and endeavor towards Integration of India-Pakistan-Bangladesh which passed unanimously in the meeting.

Mr. Shamsher Alam has called Father of the Nation as a messanger of love and welcomed his views like liquor prohibition & communal harmony. Dr. (Mrs.) Lalita Rana has compared Gandhi Jee with the lamp that never goes out and said about his works in almost every aspect besides practical application of religion in daily life. Mr. Bateshwar Mehta stressed over Gandhian activities at small scale and Mr. Nandlal Saw (Ex-Mukhiya) focused to spiritualism in place of religion. Mr. Chandra Kumar Yadav described about implanting Gandhian values among children, Mr. Rajesh Kumar talked about suppoting study upon Gandhi Jee and Mr. Pravesh Singh called love above all.

In his presidential address, Mr. Swarup Chand Jain has differentiated between being religious & fanatic. He quoted Gandhi as “My life is my message” and specified his thoughts as immortal.

Mr. Rajeev Singh anchored the dais and Mr. Shankar Rana delivered vote of thanks. About 50 people with NBJK staffs have attended the symposium.

Orientation Training for Teachers of #RemedialCoachingCentres

29 January 20022, Hazaribagh: The teachers of Remedial Coaching Centres run by NBJK for school girls with support of Action Village India, UK @actionvillageindia @ActionVillageIn have participated in an orientation training organized for them at the premise of NBJK Coordination office. At very outset of the program, a rich tribute was paid to late P. N. Sharma (founder member & treasurer, NBJK).

These teachers came from 17 RCCs operational in the villages of Sadar, Katkamdaag and Katkamsaandi blocks of Hazaribagh district. This training was focused upon simplifying the contents of subjects like Mathematics, Science & English of class 8th, 9th & 10th for easy understanding by students. The resource persons have demonstrated problem solving as per the syllabus and encouraged participants to provide feedback for better output.

On this occasion, Mr. Ateesh Pingua (Program Manager) said that besides regular teaching, our teachers should impart some time with students as well as their parents for developing a rational mindset among them to counter gender inequality and anti-women perception.

Mr. Abhay Kumar arranged the training while Mr. Ganesh Vishwakarma and Mr. Naveen Kumar have contributed as resource teachers.

NBJK Celebrates #RepublicDay

26 January 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): NBJK & Lok Samiti have celebrated 73rd Republic Day of the nation at NBJK coordination office and Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK & Rashtriya Lok Samiti) has unfurled national flag in the campus. After flag hoisting and chorus of national anthem, he addressed the staffs present on the occasion.

Mr. Girija Satish said that our constitution works as a guide to run the system comprising legislature, executive and judiciary. It symbolizes our democracy that provides us freedom under fundamental rights but that is absolutely different from free will, he stated. Also Mr. Girija Satish has stressed upon discipline and appealed all to shun superstitions by following ancient sages & originators of different faiths. He said that though our Governments & NGOs did somewhat in this direction but still we need to do a lot. Sometimes the Government wanders off while the civil society shows the way and people’s power has made a huge difference, the NBJK president mentioned. Also on behalf of the organization, he paid homage to late Prabhu Nath Sharma, Founder Member-cum-Treasurer and late Sukhdev Jee, Board Member of NBJK.

Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary-NBJK & President-Jharkhand Pradesh Lok Samiti) has expressed his deep concern over social division playing through vote politics and said that we must try to establish the spirit of our constitution. He said about severe fiscal inequality in Covid stricken India which should be tackled with proper policies. Last year in the field of community eye care, NBJK has benefitted people with 1 lakh 73 thousand OPD, 22 thousand plus cataract surgery, nearly 50 thousand power glasses through 4 units of #LokNayakJayPrakashEyeHospital in Hazaribagh, Dumka, Gaya & Devghar districts, he revealed and updated about addition of 200 beds as well as retina surgery facility at Hazaribag & Gaya units respectively. Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Director, NBJK) was of the view that social unity can lead to our national prosperity significantly and all of us should contribute to this task.

Mr. Pravesh Singh (Asst. Finance Manager, NBJK) anchored the program and many staffs like Mr. Mithilesh Kumar, Mr. Ayodhya Bharti, Mr. Abhay Kumar, Mr. Prakash Sinha, Mr. Sudhir Upadhyay, Mr. Shankar Rana, Mr. Surendra Kumar, Mr. Santosh Sinha, Mr. Atish Pingua, Mr. Prayag Mahto and Mr. Sudhir Kumar were present on this occasion. After collective hailing for great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Lohiya, JP and other freedom fighters, the event ended.

Sad Demise of Mr. #PrabhuNathSharma, Condolence Meetings Held

21 January 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): Mr. Prabhu Nath Sharma, one among founder members & the treasurer of NBJK is no more. He suffered from cardiac arrest on 19th January night. Mr. Sharma was born at village-Motirajpur of block-Garkha under Saaran district of Bihar on 10 August 1946 and now left his wife, a daughter and three sons in his bereaved family. All offspring are married and well-settled with grace of God.

Today a condolence meeting has been observed at NBJK coordination office and people paid their rich tribute to the deceased. Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK), Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK), Mr. Gandharv Gaurav (Program Director I), Mr. Anand Abhinav (PD II) including all staffs have garlanded the image of late P. N. Sharma and remembered his qualities.

Mr. Girija Satish said that such unbreakable relation began in 1966 at BIT Sindri, an engineering college where Mr. Sharma was a fellow student, we all were much interested in social works under influence of Gandhian ideology and he devoted his life with us for NBJK to fulfill the commitment. Late Sharma Jee was a responsible colleague who possessed many rare qualities like love for all, truthfulness, altruism, sensibility and his contribution to the organization is unforgettable, he stated. Mr. Satish Girija called him a person dedicated for society and said that a large number of griefed people show us their feelings towards good deeds. Mr. Gandharv Gaurav depicted late P. N. Sharma as a simple, uncomplicated and honest personality while Mr. Anand Abinav has termed the tragedy as an irreparable loss for NBJK family.

Also Mrs. Meera Gupta, Mr. Rampravesh Singh, Mr. Abhay Kumar, Mr. Shankar Rana, Mr. Shailesh Kumar have conveyed their views on this heartbreaking occasion, remembered about down-to-earth approach of late Prabhu Nath Sharma Jee and discussed about his work loyalty, frankness, discipline besides inclination to the views of Gandhi-Vinoba-JP. The condolence meeting was conducted by Mr. Rajeev Singh.

Also the staffs of NBJK branch offices, units of LNJP Eye Hospital at Bahera (Chauparan, Hazaribagh), Ranchi, Khunti, Dumka, Patna, Bodhgaya, Kajha (Gaya) and Devghar as well as and girl children of Remdial Coaching Centers in villages near Hazaribagh have mourned and paid homage to their beloved Sharma Sir!

NBJK Supports #PersonsWithDisabilities in Different Ways

17 January 2022, Hazaribagh: NBJK’s initiatives for Persons or Children with Disabilities (PwDs/CwDs) & their Carers have reached to a new height. A program upon their “Poverty Reduction and Community Based Inclusive Development” @CBMIndia @dfat with 03 partner VOs in 15 blocks under 06 districts of Jharkhand, Bihar & Chhattisgarh has access to 32,928 persons (PwDs-18,826, General-14,102) with awareness on rights & entitlements of PwDs and community sensitization. This provided financial support to 09 DSHGs as Rs. 22,900 to each for micro-enterprises, linked such 04 groups for agriculture loan @nabardonline and ensured skill training; financial inclusion/linkage & economic rehabilitation for 1017 PwDs. During Covid time, distribution of dry ration kit to 1859 & sanitation-hygiene kits to 3146 PwDs could be made possible while physically challenged women run 05 sewing units have made and distributed masks among 59558 persons (PwDs-8598, General-50960). Also the program arranged counseling & physiotherapy support to 188 CwDs, health support to 1781 PwDs, disability certificates to 98 and pension benefit to 70 PwDs.

Likewise through the program called Sakchham@kindernothilfe at slum pockets of Patna in Bihar, total 13 PwDs (11 children & 2 adults) received disability certificates, 11 (8 children & 3 adults) got pension facility, 11 CwDs received assistive devices and 10 CwDs availed home based physiotherapy/speech therapy service.

For the Carers of PwDs, PwMIE (Persons with Mental Illness & Epilepsy) and old aged family members, NBJK has executed the program of “Caring for Carers” @CarersWorldwide across 06 blocks of Hazaribagh district and organized 987 Carers (95% women) as 87 SHGs and supported 150 Carers financially for their livelihood activities.

NBJK Works with 12,000 plus Children

15 January 2022, Hazaribag: During last financial year, NBJK provided Pre-schooling & Schooling Support to 5486 children (girls-3078, boys-2408) through 11 Primary Schools, 01 Middle School, 06 High Schools, 28 Remedial Coaching Centers, 2 Support Programs and 2 Partner VOs in 08 districts of Jharkhand & Bihar.

This offered Scholarship to 46 (girls-33, boys-13) and No Fee facility to 2578 students. 850 students (girls-534, boys-316) appeared for class X board examination with 97% result cumulatively. The organization worked with total 12789 children & adolescents (girls-7200, boys-5589) through schools, education centers and 04 child centered/friendly programs.

All these became possible with support from individuals like Smt. Amoli & Shri Apurva-Shri Prakashbhai Shah-Shri Bhawinbhai Shah & Family-Smt. Roshni-Shri Dhruva (Ahmedabad), Smt. FCC Counselor Participates in Talk at AlR, Hazaribagh

30 December 2021, Hazaribagh: Mrs. Meera Gupta, the counselor of #FamilyCounselingCenter run by NBJK with support of CSWB-New Delhi @MinistryWCD & JSSWB-Ranchi, has been invited by All India Radio, Hazaribagh @airhzb @inbministry @AkshvaniAIR to join a Talk upon Women Atrocity & Redressal.

Other participants were Ms. Nivedita (Advocate, Civil Court), Ms. Mukta (Teacher, VB University) and Dr. (Mrs.) Rupa Ghosh (Doctor, SB Medical College) from Hazaribagh. Mr. Avro Choudhry (Station Head, AIR-Akashvani, Hazaribagh) was moderator of the Talk moved around various dimensions of atrocity upon women right from female foeticide to trafficking, flirting, abduction, making false accusations, domestic violence, troubles at workplace and many more.

Mrs. Meera Gupta has focused about understanding of the problem any woman suffers from and queries to family members, neighbors, relatives to have right information for further intervention. She said about importance of counseling to patchup delicate relationship and role of social mobilization as well as of law enforcement agencies to ensure reconciliation in family disputes. Alcoholism is a major reason behind nuisance in our families and society; she pointed out and appealed the Government for liquor prohibition. The Talk will be aired soon, she informed.
