Some children are unable to see properly from the distance of only 2 meters even, he adds. When asked whether they informed their parents about such problem earlier, most of them agreed and said about negligence on part of parents.

Mr. Anand Abhinav (Program Director, NBJK) admits that such ratio is quite higher than national average of around 10% refractive errors and it would have happened because of continuous online classes during Covid time for last two years and less physical activities by children.

He appealed the parents to motivate their children to participate in the campaign of Free Eye Screening Camps in schools for eye checkup. Also he insisted to take initiative to know about any eye problem with children and to get proper treatment if they come to know about such eye complication with children if we want to save their vision.
