Inter School Sports Competition under HRDP

17 November 2022, Chanho (Ranchi): Under HDFC Bank supported & NBJK run Holistic Rural Development Project in Chanho block of Ranchi district, three days Sports Competition has been concluded with much fanfare at Barhe ground. Sukurhutu’s team emerged victorious in boys’ groups while New Star Club, Rakadih became champion among girls’ category.

Mr. Bandhu Tirkey (former Minister), Mr. Ashutosh Tiwary (Member, District Council), Mr. Dilip Singh (PCC Delegate), Mr. Shivraj (General Secretary, Jharkhand Kisan Majdoor Mahasangh), Mr. Jeeshan Zaved (Project Manager-CSR Head, HDFC Bank) and Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) have honored all the teams with trophies.

The program was organized under the joint aegis of Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra and HDFC Bank on the occasion of Child Rights Week, in which 16 teams from boys and 8 teams from girls categories participated.

Addressing the program, Mr. Bandhu Tirkey said that through sports we will be able to give right leadership to the society. He mentioned that there is no dearth of talent in our rural areas; they just need to be nurtured. We will start a sports training center in collaboration with Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra to promote rural children as quality sports persons, Mr. Tirkey assured.  Mr. Ashutosh Tiwary called the sports competition as a milestone for children.

Initially Mr. Satish Girija has introduced about HRDP being executed by NBJK across 15 villages of Chanho block and facilitates farmers-women to enhance their income.

Mr. Sunil Kumar Gupta (Asst. Project Manager, HRDP) anchored the dais. During the function, prizes and person of the match awards were also distributed among the players.

Mr. Alok Kumar Singh (Project Manager, HRDP), Mr. Priyanshu Kumar, Mr. Eeshwar Gupta, Ms. Deepika Kumari, Mr. Mahaveer Oraon and others had a commendable contribution in making the event a success.

Quiz, Essay, Drawing & Spelling Competitions for Girl Children

17 November 2022, Hazaribagh: The school girls enrolled at AVI supported Remedial Coaching Centres, participate in extra-curricular activities like Quiz, Essay, Drawing & Spelling Test competitions. Such event is going on at each RCC these days and children turn up zestfully.

Recently the competitions have been organized at the RCCs of Gurhet and Khapariyawan villages. The students contributed there with enthusiasm and won prizes. Mr. Abhay Kumar (Supervisor) and concerned teachers were present on the occasion. They rewarded the children with useful books and other learning materials.

It’s significant that with kind support of Action Village India, NBJK runs 17 Remedial Coaching Centres in villages of Hazaribagh Sadar, Katkamdag and Katkamsandi blocks of Hazaribagh districts. These RCCs are exclusively for girl children of class 8, 9 & 10 and teach them English, Maths & Science free of cost.

There are more than 600 students at these centres and they perform well academically. This year, 206 girls appeared for class 10 board exam and secured 99.5% result with first division for 148 students.

Rich Tribute to Late Philman Baxla of Lok Prerna Kendra, Simaria

16 November 2022, Ranchi: A trusted ally of NBJK, Mr. Philman Baxla, Secretary-Lok Prerna Kendra, Simaria (Chatra, Jharkhand) has left for heavenly abode.

Three days before he suffered from a massive brain hemorrhage, became senseless and admitted to a private hospital at Ranchi. But he went in coma and couldn’t be saved afterall.

At NBJK co-ordination office, a condolence meeting held to mourn his sad demise and all staffs paid him their rich tributes.

As Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) and Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) were out of station, they sent their condolence message and remembered the departed soul for his social commitment as well as humanitarian values.

Hon. Chief Minister, Jharkhand Greets Child Reporters on Children’s Day

14 November 2022, Ranchi: Hon. Chief Minister of Jharkhand Mr. Hemant Soren welcomed the school children groomed as Child Reporters by NBJK with support of UNICEF Jharkhand.

He met the child reporters at his residential office and greeted them on Children’s Day. He talked to the CRs in a relaxed way and responded to their queries affectionately.

When Ananya Kesri asked him whether becoming chief minister was a dream for him since childhood? He denied and said that it happened by chance. Replying to Karan Ojha about the contributors to his success, hon. chief minister bestowed the credit to his parents and wife. Likewise Palak Kumari inquired for his favorite game and Mr. Soren has named swimming, badminton, cricket & athletics he was interested in and got multiple injuries during his childhood.

Sports too are an integral part of our development and the state government provides reservation in govt. jobs for national or international medal recipient sports persons, he said. The chief minister has mentioned about Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana for adolescent girls by his government and declared quality education as well as malnutrition of children as a major challenge for Jharkhand.

He rewarded Himanshu, Vaishnavi and Lakshmi the CRs reporters by giving them footballs for making best press releases of this event.

Also Dr. Kaninika Mitra (Head), Mrs. Astha Alang (Communication Expert), Ms. Shivani Shrivastava (Consultant) from UNICEF Jharkhand and Mrs. Sushmita Bhattacharji with Mr. Vivek Kumar (NBJK) were present on the occasion.

Child Reporters’ Meet Hon. Speaker of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly

14 November 2022, Ranchi: On the occasion of Children’s Day and Child Development Week  (14-20 Nov’22) observance by UNICEF, the child reporters promoted under Child Reporters program by NBJK with support of UNICEF Jharkhand, met Mr. Ravindranath Mahto (Hon. Speaker, Jharkhand Legislative Assembly) at his office.

Hon. Speaker has greeted the child reporters and motivated them to overcome various obstacles on the way of study, dutifulness and good thoughts with action. He wished the children for success and endorsed a favourable environment to ensure their rights, self-respect, better education and health.

20 Child Reporters from 7 blocks of Ranchi district have participated in this learning visit; they introduced themselves, shared about their social interventions and asked questions to Hon. Speaker.

Baby Anamika from Govt. School, Itki has explained about an incident when she initiated against a child marriage in her neighborhood and could save the girl going to be married forcefully. Also Baby Trisha from Angada and Baby Lakshmi from Ormanjhi have briefed about the steps they took as child reporters against cases of Child Labour and School Dropout.

The children put the issues like negative view upon their intervention, social disparity for women-girls, malnourished children and dissemination of the message on child rights before Hon. Speaker.

He listened to children patiently, accepted their points, stressed over collective effort against social taboos and informed about the steps being taken by the government. Hon. Speaker said that childhood is a precious gift; it must be saved delicately and needs proper guidance without hurting freedom of the children.

NBJK Secretary at MRTC & Exposure Visit for Trainees

11-12 November 2022, Giridih: Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) has visited at Mission Rozgar Training Center-Giridih. This is being run by NBJK under UTI Mutual Fund supported Young India project.

He met trainee youths, faculties and observed the activities of MRTC. Mr. Satish Girija suggested exploring new venues for placement of trained youths under different trades offered by the center.

Till this month, total 125 youths could get employment after their training for General Duty Assistant, Basic Computer Applications, Beautician & Bridal Makeup and Account Executive by MRTC-Giridih.

Next day, an exposure was conducted for 20 trainees from the courses of BCAs & Account Executive. The trainees, concerned faculties and placement officer went to P-Bazar, a mall at the city. They interacted with the manager and collected information about job opportunities there.

Workshop on Gender Mainstreaming

12 November 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): Under Action Village India supported programme of Community Action-Small Initiatives by NBJK, a two-days workshop on Gender Mainstreaming concluded today.

Mrs. Pooja Sinha and Mrs. Pushpa Devi, involved as resource persons, exposed the participants to the understanding of sex & gender, differences, gender norms, gender based discrimination and its impacts on various levels. The upcoming activities were also discussed on the occasion.

A total of 22 persons including representatives from the VOs like Lok Shakti Shikshan Kendra (Paraiya, Gaya), Gram Nirman Kendra (Wazirganj, Gaya), Lok Prerna Kendra (Simaria, Chatra), Vikas Foundation (Jarmundi, Dumka), Stri Shakti (Hazaribagh) and teachers-girl students from Remedial Coaching Centres across Hazaribagh by NBJK in collaboration with AVI, have ensured their participation in the workshop.

Mr. Rajiv Singh, Ms Devyani Sarkar and Mr. Abhay Kumar from NBJK had major roles in organizing the event.

Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School Organizes Motivational Classes for Students

CMPDIL, Ranchi Provides Scholarship to 20 Students of LNJP Paramedical Institute

09 November 2022, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh): Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited-Ranchi, a Mini Ratna Company & subsidiary of Coal India Limited under Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India, has provided 100% scholarship in course fee and 75% in hostel charges for 20 meritorious students from SC, ST, OBC, EWS categories to study in Diploma Course of Ophthalmic Assistant at LNJP Paramedical Institute by NBJK.

The Govt. of Jharkhand recognized LNJPPI is situated in the campus of NBJK’s LNJP Eye Hospital, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh) and runs in close coordination with the eye hospital.

Ms. Suman Rastogi (Chief Manager-CSR, CMPDIL) arrived at LNJPPI, met the students supported by CMPDIL and motivated them to perform better with the scholarship program.

Earlier she has been greeted by Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK), Mr. Anand Abhinav (Program Director, NBJK), LNJPEH management team and teachers-students of LNJPPI.

Usha Silai School Training for Women

08 November 2022, Hazaribagh: As an activity of Usha Silai School program by NBJK with support of Usha International Limited, a 9-days residential sewing/tailoring training has been started on 7th November for 11 women as 10 women from Giridih Sadar, Bengabad & Jamua blocks of Giridih district and 01 woman from Ichak block of Hazaribagh district under classical & adopted segments respectively.

The training was inaugurated by Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) who encouraged the trainees and called tailoring as a suitable means of self-employment. He said that some trained women under the program earn even Rs. 20-25,000 monthly and run their families in a better way. Mr. Felix Tirkey (State Program Manager), Mrs. Renu Devi (Master Trainer) and Mr. Kamaljeet Sharma (Service Engineer) from Usha International were present on the occasion.

During the training, trainee women will learn about different parts of the sewing machine, their assembling & minor repair as well as designs, cutting & making of various popular apparels with customer handling skills to become full time professional tailors.

After completion of their training, each trainee will get a new Usha sewing machine, a signage board of Usha Silai School, service mannual book, syllabus, guidebook and certificate as they are supposed to initiate Usha Silai School at their own places.
