11 October 2022, Hazaribagh-Patna-Sahibganj: Lok Samiti, the organization founded by veteran freedom fighter & Sarvodaya leader Loknayak JayPrakash, has celebrated his 120th birth anniversary.
At Hazaribagh, district Lok Samiti & Jharkhand Sarvodaya Mandal called a symposium jointly on this occasion. This held at JP Memorial Site near Gandhi Ashram (Parnala Kumhartoli, Hazaribagh).
Initially some members of Lok Samiti & JSM have garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and photograph of JP. The symposium was presided by Mr. Krishna Ram Thakur (Retd. Teacher) and speakers have remembered contribution of JP to build a democratic India.
Dr. Vishwanath Azad (Coordinator, JSM) demanded from the district administration to patch up land issue for JP Memorial Site. Mr. Shankar Rana, Mr. Arvind Jha, Mr. Shamsher Alam, Mr. Shyam Kishor and others have participated in the symposium.
Also by NBJK-Patna and Sahibganj District Lok Samiti, JP birth anniversary celebration was led by Mr. Satyendra Kumar and Mr. Abdus Subhan respectively.
It’s noteworthy that Lok Samiti is an apolitical-unregistered mass organization based upon Gandhian ideology, initiated by JP on 30 June 1977 and has been continuously opposing liquor, social evils, superstition, communal hatred and sad state of women, farmers & landless people.
10 October 2022, Deoghar: At NBJK run Vimla RamKrishna Bajaj Hospital, Deoghar, an Optical Coherence Tomography machine has been inaugurated by Dr. Chandrakishor Choudhary, Chief Medical Officer.
The eye hospital is moving forward to provide treatment of various eye diseases; he praised this fourth unit of LNJP Eye Hospital by NBJK. Also Mr. Kapildeo Singh (Retd. IG of Police) has graced the inaugural ceremony.
On this occasion, Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) has welcomed the guests and said that an OCT machine can diagnose internal eye screen, retina, angiography, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy etc very easily with perfection to make treatment successful. As an organization, NBJK is committed to access rural-urban pockets of Jharkhand with quality & affordable eye care services, he pointed out.
Mr. Anand Abhinav (Program Director, NBJK) added that VRKBEH-Deoghar has conducted more than 3,000 Cataract Surgery and around 14,000 OPD within a year.
Mr. Sudarshan Pandey (Program Manager, NBJK), Mr. Samir Kumar Mishra (Manager, VRKBEH) and other staffs have contributed to the event.
08 October 2022, Patna-Hazaribagh: NBJK has ensured disability certificate to 186 PwDs (110 children), corrective surgery to 05 and physiotherapy to 26 children at Patna slums.
It worked with 1000 plus home-based Carers of their family members suffering from physical/mental diseases, disability, old age problem etc and linked 576 carers with housing, pension & livelihood schemes across 06 blocks of Hazaribagh district.

07 October 2022, Mohanpur, Gaya: NBJK run Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Eye Hospital, Kajha has started its second Vision Centre at Mohanpur block headquarters in Gaya district.
This will facilitate easy access of quality eye care services for needy people at remote villages.
The MOIC of Mohanpur PHC has inaugurated the Vision Centre and extended his best wishes. Some staffs of Mohanpur PHC and other local persons were present in the inaugural ceremony.
A team led by Mr. Santosh Kumar (DPM, Sightsavers-SCB program) contributed to the event.
LNJPEH-Kajha initiated Vision Centre is being supported by Standard Chartered Bank & Sightsavers.
07 October 2022, Hazaribagh: Responding bravely to second horrible wave of Covid, NBJK came forward with a 30 bedded Covid Care Center with 20 oxygen beds at LNJP Eye Hospital; Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh) that saved 35 lives.
Likewise 36,345 OPD from 595 Covid Care Rural Outreach Camps with free of cost health checkup, medical consultation & medicine(s) to persons with Covid like symptoms was a cruicial preventive step.
During those dangerous days, more than 400 Covid suffering persons have been provided Oximeters & Vaporizers. Around 1000 Rural Medical Practitioners have been supported with Infrared Thermometer, Oximeter and a jar of liquid Sanitizer for each.
NBJK arranged food grains for nearly 2,000 families and ensured Vaccination support to 70,000 plus people. Also 139 school children received smart phones for online classes.

05 October 2022, Jharkhand-Bihar: NBJK facilitates community development activities by small VOs and does advocacy over women-children safety.
During 2021-22, it supported 33 grassroots organizations & social activists from Jharkhand-Bihar to work with children, women, farmers along with inputs of organizational development and capacity building.
Through Family Counselling Centre, NBJK has reconciled 97 cases of family disputes out of 135 registered cases there.
As the sub-centre of Childline 1098, it intervened in 113 cases of children at risk and ensured their safety in four blocks of Hazaribagh district.
To promote the Gandhian thought of liquor prohibition, the organization supported people’s mobilization and 05 district level Anti-Liquor Conventions by Lok Samiti in Jharkhand.

02 October 2022, Chakai-Deoghar: Gandhi birth anniversary has been celebrated in a different way by SBIF supported SBI Gram Seva project with NBJK across 05 villages from Ramchandradih panchayat of Chakai block in Jamui district and at 05 villages under Andhrigadar panchayat of Deoghar Sadar block in Deoghar district.
On the occasion, two separate events have been organized at Patjori and Ramaldih villages in Chakai and Deoghar Sadar blocks respectively.
At these villages in presence of the members of Village Development Committees and prominent citizens, Mr. S. K. Yajal (PM, SBIGS-Chakai) and Mr. Shahab Ansari (PM, SBIGS-Deoghar) have presented Project Progress Reports of their areas and handed over the project created community assets to VDCs.
Also new volunteers among villagers took charges of Community Information Centres established at each operational village under SBIGS.
The villagers have remembered Mahatma Gandhi and shown commitment to develop their villages collectively. Hundreds of people have participated in the program arranged on Gandhi Jayanti.
02 October 2022, Gandhi Sthal (Kumhartoli, Hazaribagh): The members of Lok Samiti and Chauhattar Chetna Manch, a group of JP movement activists, have celebrated 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr. Girija Satish (President, National Lok Samiti) and Mr. Swarup Chand Jain (Coordinator, CCM) led the people from social & political spheres in observance of the day. They offered flowers-garlands to the statue of Gandhi ji, sung Mahatma’s beloved hymns and expressed their views upon the Father of the Nation.
While addressing a symposium organized on the occasion, Mr. Girija Satish said that no class was excluded from the concept of development placed by Gandhiji who perceives human lives in totality and left a heritage in the shape of not only ideas but experiments about religion, politics, spirituality, economics, health, education, hygiene, ethics, women empowerment with many others and interconnected their relevance irresistible towards humanity on the planet.
Mr. Swarup Chand Jain mentioned about deliberate attempts to forget Gandhi but people of India will not let it to be done and we need to progress with social harmony, he said. Considering the importance of cultural unity of India, Mr. Gautam Sagar Rana (ex-MLA) say said that today in order to carry Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts among the youth, we should review the material related to Gandhiji in our educational courses.
Also Mrs. Nancy Sahay (Dy. Commissioner, Hazaribagh) and Sadar MLA Mr. Manish Jayaswal have arrived at the Gandhi Sthal and garlanded the statue of Gandhiji. The DC made it important to learn something from Gandhi’s ideology as well as to do accordingly and she appealed youths-social workers to serve people. Mr. Manish Jayaswal called to join hands to make a clean, developed and sovereign nation.
Mr. Shankar Rana anchored the proceeding and many persons like Mr. Bateshwar Mehta, Mr. Awadhesh Pandey, Mr. Babulal Rana, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Vijay Rana, Mr. Arvind Jha Advocate, Mr. Abhay Kumar, Mr. Arjun Yadav, Mr. Harish Srivastava, Mr. Shamsher Alam, Mr. Rajkumar Gupta, Dr. Binny, and Ms Omika Jain have contributed to the event.
At the end, Mr. Girija Satish & others have offered garlands to the statue of former Prime Minister Late Lal Bahadur Shastri Jee at Indrapuri Chowk and to Gandhi statues near Lake and at DC office.
30 September 2022, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh: CBSE affiliated Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School by NBJK has organized Hindi Essay Competition for all classes from I to X.
Anushka Kumari, Riya Kumari, Sweety Kumari and Pratima Kumari won first prize while second prize went to Shrishti, Monika and Anu from four sections of class X. Monika Simran from class VIII “A” and her brother Gyan Ranjan of Class VI “B” have received first prizes in their respective classes.
In a simple function, Ms. Rina Pandey (Principal, SPBPS) has conferred prizes to the winners and encouraged all to take interest in Hindi language & literature. She said that by organizing such events, we provide a platform for our students to learn & do better.

29 September 2022, Simdega-Lohardaga-Nawada: Under NBJK run Usha Silai School program, the women willing to open Usha Satellite Silai School on their own, have availed short duration tailoring training.
On 21-22 September, 20 women have received two days training at Community Building of Kusumbera village in Thethaitangar block, Simdega. They learnt basic skills of measurement, cutting, sewing and focus was to make school uniforms. Mrs. Anita Soreng and Mrs. Neelam Devi have contributed as trainers. Mr. Shailesh Kumar (Project Coordinator) has coordinated the event. Same training held at the block office of Bolba block of Simdega district on 23-24 September for another batch of 20 women.
In Lohardaga district, the training was organized at Lohardaga Gram Swarajya Sansthan, Lohardaga on 25-26 & 27-28 September for two batches of twenty-twenty women. Mrs. Anita Soreng and Mrs. Lalita Kumari were trainers while Mr. Shailesh Kumar was coordinator.
On 26-27 September at Sokhodeora Ashram in Kawakole block of Nawada district in Bihar, 20 women trainees have participated in tailoring training and next 20 women joined it on 28-29 September 2022. Mrs. Yasira Anzum and Mrs. Lalsa Devi imparted as trainers and Mr. Visnhudev Paswan coordinated the affairs.
At all these three places, out of total 120 trainee women, most of them came from villages and after training, they have been provided certificate, separate guide books on tailoring as well as sewing machine maintenance and signage board for each. They will start Usha Satellite Silai Schools at their places.
